I've been here once before and it was ok...but my experience last night will make me never come back. I walked in at 8:20pm and they listed their closing time at 9:30pm. As soon as I sat down, the bartender says, "Hey! We had last call." I looked around the restaurant and could see about 10 other people there, most of them with full drinks so they of course were going to be there for a bit. Knowing that I only wanted one drink, and being well over an hour before closing, I was surprised. I must have had that look on my face because she once again said, "We had last call" and was sliding her hands across her neck - kinda like when you're telling someone they are cut off. It was honestly embarrassing. I walked out, knowing I would never be back again.

If you're a manager or wonder of Bodega and reading this, please know I barely put in reviews, but this one drove me so hard. Your employee lacked any form of compassion, hospitality, or decorum. She honestly had a sour face and I was so genuinely unhappy, or upset, or just generally mean. She was working last night (Sunday night) and was blonde. She had tattoos on...

The Bodega is a quaint Vietnamese restaurant that developed a side hustle on Saturdays selling breakfast burritos. The burritos come with Tator Tots, Eggs, and Avocado. You then add one of many choices as the meat. We arrived at 9:20 am and there was a decent long line. We were prepared to wait an hour because of some new TikTok fame. We waited two hours to place our order and an additional 20 minutes to receive our burritos.

We ordered a Pork (it's Chile verde) burrito and a Chorizo burrito. We really wanted the Beef Rib burrito, but they ran out. Settling on the Chorizo wasn't that great. Pretty basic. However, the Pork Burrito really had some good flavor. The hot sauce provide had some good flavor as well.

Is this place worth a two hour wait? Absolutely not. Maybe an hour tops for the Pork. $13/burrito. The Vietnamese food...

We waited for the bar tender to help us for about 5-10 mins. When we ordered, he didn't ask if we wanted any food and closed our tab immediately. We paid 40$ for 2 glasses of wine with a 3$ tip included. (The wine was good but my partners glass was warm and dirty) We took our seats at a table that hadn't been cleared and drank our wine. While we had our wine; I noticed that the bartender was nic vaping inside while socializing with others. This would be fine with me at a dive bar where I was getting charged half the price, but I find it to be distasteful when paying 40$ for 2 wines. If it wasn't for the bad service I would have spent more money on food and wine. Disappointing experience because we had wanted to try this spot...

Bodega is a brilliant little wine bar tucked into North Beach, part of a trio of cool venues across the city. The wine selection is strong, the prices are fair, and the atmosphere in spring and summer is absolutely spot-on—beautiful light, great energy, and proper retro vibes thanks to a hi-fi system built into the wall (which I absolutely loved). The only downside? The staff are far cooler than any of the customers, which may spark a minor identity crisis. Still, amazing drinks, a lovely crowd, and a place I’d 100% recommend for a relaxed, stylish evening.
