NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN! TERRIBLE SERVICE AND RUDE STAFF!

I have been coming to Charmaine’s for years, especially for special occasions or bringing folks visiting out of town. I have always always raved about the view, the service, and the food and drinks. HOWEVER, during my last visit (01/18/2025) not only was the service terrible, the rudeness from the staff was quite jarring. 1. Our server walks over accusing one of our party of vaping when we did not nor own a vape. There was no apologies but just awkward walk away for making the mistake. He kept starring down at us every time he would pass our table. Mind you, it’s two girls with this man starring us down. The uncomfortable and uneasiness we felt was egregious. We let it go as we were celebrating my bday, and thought that was just weird. 2. One of their staff at the front, walked pass our table and shoved one of the chairs into the table aggressively. Bumping into my foot. When he walked back I asked him: excuse me sir we have someone sitting there, he just stepped up to use the restroom. He says: I know. I’m trying to pass. Then I said, please don’t shove the chair into the table (mind you these chairs are on concrete floors so it screeched and slid with just a push). He said: I didn’t shove your chair into the table. As someone who has experienced in the service industry, you always ask your customer if chairs are in the way to see if they are okay moving it in a bit. That is all you had to do. Zero communication and zero accountability was taken. I waved down their beverage manager, Erkan Zeren, to ask him about it. He says he’ll ask his team then promptly disappeared for the rest of the night when, to be honest, he has been stepping over the line in terms of his friendliness. After we settled the bill, we began to leave and I go to the front and ask for the man who shoved the chair in for his name. He goes I don’t have to give you my name, “did you settle the bill”. This type of behavior is not only unacceptable but straight up disrespectful. We will not be returning to Charmaine ever again. I will not be recommending this place ever again. First of all I would like to say that normally I have had very many pleasant experiences here, but this time I was taken complety by surprise. We had made reservations and they were unable to find our reservations . As we had proof of the reservations they were able to find us a table in the nearly empty outdoor area . Being that there are some special circumstances on Thursdays through Sundays each person must spend 75$ off the menu. We were also taken by surprise when we were told we had to purchase 4 items of food on the menu. Now I understand that ordering something off the menu is required but 4 items well ok that wasn't specified on a Wednesday as a circumstance. We were planning to get 2 items and 2 drinks , but fine we were forced to order and of course we could not eat it since we were not going to force ourselves to eat it. Then later we get the surprise that not only are we required to order these food items but not ALL THE FOOD ITEMS ON THE MENU COUNT as food ITEMS . So again this was also not ok if the menu has starters then those are considered food items no? Well apparently not all the items are. So with all this on Top of all that later that evening i became very sick to my stomach, I ended up canceling all my appointments the next morning as I Had FOOD POISENING From this place ! I am still recuperating now ! BUT LET ME SAY I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. I barely even ate the forced starters and it made me completely sick ! I have been to some fabulous restaurants in SF and the tab was the same as it was here. So not worth my money I used to love Charmaine's for the drinks and views , but after this experience I will never step foot in there again. Oh and BTW they also never answer...

Went for brunch. Menu selection was quite limited but I found something to order. Waited around 20-30 minutes for the food. Enjoyed a nice cocktail (Proper Cup) while waiting- best part of the entire meal for sure. My entree arrived without comment, but upon digging in I realized it was extremely bland and seemed to be missing several of the ingredients listed on the menu. When I asked our waitress about it, she walked away and sent someone else to ask me about it again. He acted like he could do me a favor by bringing out one of the missing ingredients and claimed the other ingredient was no longer a part of the dish and they had “changed the menu”, which is wild since the menu was digital and not printed on paper and they clearly hadn’t even bothered to update it. I told him I didn’t want the dish if they didn’t have the ingredients needed to make it properly as advertised on the menu. Asked for scrambled eggs and a croissant instead. The eggs came out runny- not my preference for scrambled eggs but that’s OK- but the croissant was cold and stale. Seemed to be 1-2 days old, tough and hard to chew, and they hadn’t even bothered to warm it up before serving. I tried my dining companion’s meal while I was waiting for mine and it was only mediocre as well. I was pretty shocked by how bad the food/service was for such a reputable location. Upsides: interior design was beautiful, tho our actual table was extremely shoddy and wobbly, cheap quality, and chairs were not comfortable.
