Fujiyama serves an Americanized menu. You know, the bento boxes, the teriyaki dishes and the sushi rolls etc. Tonight, I had an urge to get some saba (mackerel) ($12) and shrimp tempura $7. The food wasn't bad. The shrimp tempura had a good crispy and crumby batter. But the shrimp tasted powdery. The saba tasted ok. It wasn't great. I'm not sure why they served it with orange slices. Usually, I like mine a bit salted with some lemon and perhaps some grated daikon radish. I did like how they served teriyaki sauce on the side. Sweet teriyaki sauce served on top would have ruined that grilled salty saba taste. Service wasn't bad. I wasn't served tea or checked on after my food arrived as they were pretty busy. The food did come out in a reasonable amount of time. My tab with a large beer was $35 with tax and tip. I'm glad they were open and the little old women working is still doing it after all these year. Good for her.

Great rolls, great prices, beautiful interior despite small space. On my first visit, I decided to get some avocado rolls and I found this restaurant. I paid $8.60 for two avocado maki rolls, each roll being six pieces. The avocado was ripe and the rolls were a good size. If you decide to visit this restaurant, you should dine-in. This restaurant does to-go orders, but they're really dine-in oriented. On a different visit, I dined in and had the chicken donburi, California roll, and mushroom roll. The chicken donburi was filling, the California roll was wonderful, but the mushroom roll was extremely salty. My total was $21.55 before tax. This restaurant has great prices and great food, which is why I recommend checking it out.

happy to have stumbled upon this place. the rolls were good, sashimi fresh, and fried things used a beer-like batter that was more doughy / golden crispy rather than the thinner crumbly style — karaage had some tenderized meat inside instead of large chunks of thigh which was unexpected but interesting. the gomae and agedashi tofu were generous. overall, nice home-y japanese mom n pop serving a bunch of classics, humble and satisfying for a casual dinner date.

Cute, small restaurant with about six tables. Mix of apps, sushi, sashimi, and full meals (udon, tempura, katsu, etc.)

Highlights: beef amiyake: tender, comes out sizzling on the cast iron plate, delicious sauce house tea: seemed to be a genmaicha variety with toasted rice, nice light flavor pickled ginger: generous portions that came out on each plate, I appreciate this as I love ginger I asked for a side of onion for my sushi and they were very prompt and generous about bringing it out nigiri had generous amounts of fish that overhang the rice; fish tastes fresh

Lowlights: spicy tuna and dynamite rolls are SUPER SPICY. I literally couldn’t eat more than three rolls before my mouth was on fire - of you don’t handle spicy well, watch out for anything that has the spicy sauce sunset roll contains cream cheese, which is not disclosed on the menu. I don’t believe cream cheese belongs in sushi so was taken aback when it came out with it. Please write down all of the ingredients in your rolls, it’s important your guests know what’s on them when there’s only five or six ingredients Two ladies running the FOH were nice but very busy with take out orders while we waited almost 10mins for them to take our order. Once it got less busy they were more attentive, but they could use another server

Am still trying to find my “go to” sushi restaurant in the area, will keep looking until I can find a menu I can trust and rolls I can handle the...

The soup was tasty. That's the best I can say. I ordered a tuna/yellow tail roll and once it arrived (10 minutes after my husband's food arrived) it appeared very dry and thin. I tried the first piece of tuna, started chewing and spit it out. It was so fishy and chemically tasting in addition to being dry. This was certainly not fresh fish. I've been to 100s of sushi places and never have I experienced this scary quality of food. By scary I mean that if I had swallowed it, I might have been food poisoned. I called our server and told her that it tastes terrible and even though I apologized for having to return it, she just looked at me and said ok. I then ordered a salmon roll and it was better. The place was busy and I couldn't understand why everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. I realized that most customers were eating menu items other than sushi such as tempura and tonkatsu. So maybe this just isn't the place for sushi. Maybe they just don't sell the fish fast enough. The sushi preparer should not have plated my food. Any amateur could see how dry and lackluster it was even prior...

I'd give it 0 stars if google allowed it. My first time ordering, I got a chirashi and the fish tasted weird. Just not fresh. It was packed so awfully it looked like a child's school lunch.

Decided to give them a second shot, this time, I went to the restaurant. They're clearly understaffed, and the waitress just seemed to be in an awful mood. Ordered two different sushi rolls, which she couldn't even get right, my "order" comes, and both rolls are definitely something I didn't order. I kindly ask her to take them back as it is not what I asked for, she rips the plate off my hand, runs to the kitchen, and comes back with the same plate (which had been sitting in front of me for 10 minutes) and brings it to the guys next to us, lol. Basically pretended it didn't happen and completely unhygienic. I was sooo tempted to letting these customers know.

Anyways my food arrives and of course she got it wrong once again, but oh well, I'm hungry, I'll let it slide once again. Whoops, it tastes awful. As expected. It's a shame I wasted my money once again.

Anyways, reconsider if you want to go...
