Jake's Steaks — Restaurant in San Francisco

The service was good very good. The atmosphere I like as well but the most important part is the food now this being a cheesesteak place I thought I would get a good cheese steak but they give you more cheese than they give you meat. I just came in with my cousin, we ordered two cheesesteaks large two orders of wings. I got honey garlic, and he got buffalo wings were not good at all. They were sick frozen wings that they put in the fryer with no seasoning no flour or nothing just fried and plain and then put sauce on top of them , not good at all. Do not try then we get down to the cheesesteaks I got the gmo Cheesesteak Which is garlic mushrooms, onions but I didn’t know that I would be getting Cheese With no onions and no mushrooms, but a lot of cheese and a little bit of meat to the point where the cheese overpowers The cheesesteak you don’t taste any meat you only taste cheese. You don’t taste onions you don’t taste garlic. You don’t taste mushrooms. You taste provolone cheese when I asked him can I do half-and-half cheese he said no because we mix the cheese with the meat like a chop cheese, chop cheese are OK but this was more like a cheese cheese, chopped cheese. I’ve never had a cheesesteak with that much cheese on it ever in my life from anywhere. my cousins cheesesteak was the same thing he got the barbecue cheesesteak cheese overpowers the barbecue sauce. You barely can taste it and we also got waffle chili cheese fries to be honest the waffle chili cheese fries were OK. They weren’t the best but they were OK. there’s all came up to $130,...

First visit to San Francisco for work, and someone recommended this place. It was incredible! The best cheesesteak I've ever had!! I haven't been to Philadelphia yet, but this place was great! I was with a group of people who ordered a variety of menu items, and no one was disappointed!

My 12" garlic cheesesteak was enough to eat as a meal itself!! So good! They were out of chips, so i ended up spending an extra $12 on side items Jalapeno poppers and Mozzarella cheese sticks. Both excellent (higher quality cheese and ranch dressing seemed made in-house; marinara sauce also seemed made in-house, the best I've ever had!)

Anyway, being from Dallas, i was expecting them to be out of several things, but they weren't. (Only the chips, and that's probably because it was near closing time.)

It took ALL my will-power not to sample my friend's Garlic Waffle Fries!! I inhaled their essence, and I'm sure i absorbed it's calories! 🤣💯

Jake’s Steaks on Valencia is the real deal — a slice of Philly right here in San Francisco. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is laid-back and welcoming, and the smell of sizzling steak and onions instantly tells you you're in for something good.

I ordered the classic Philly cheesesteak “wiz wit” (with Cheez Whiz and onions), and let me just say: perfection. The roll was soft yet held up to the juicy, perfectly seasoned steak — flown in from Philly, I’m told! Every bite had that rich, nostalgic flavor you can only get from a place that knows what it’s doing.

The sides? Also a win. The garlic fries were crispy, loaded, and addictively good. And shoutout to the staff — super friendly, fast, and clearly passionate about serving up a proper cheesesteak.
