Dinosaurs Sandwiches — Restaurant in San Francisco

Always loved it. Usually fresh tasting. Sometimes the summer rolls have been made too far in advance and have started to go soggy. The shakes are amazing: watermelon lychee and avocado and my favorite 2. And one weird experience late at night kept me away for awhile. I arrived 10 min before closing and asked if it was too late to order 2 sandwiches and 2 shakes. The young man behind the counter, who I believe is the owner's son, said it was fine. 5 min later, still before closing time, he turned me and said, as he was adding the food in the to go bag, "it's pretty rude of you to come in and order sandwiches 10 min before closing." I remarked that I had even asked if it was ok and that he had said yes. And then he added, "these guys back here have been working all day, and we just cleaned the kitchen and you come in just before closing and order food? These guys have places and parties to go to tonight, and I do too, and now we will have to clean the kitchen all over again." I said, "But your restaurant is still open, even after you've given me my food just now." And he said "well we were going to leave early. I told you we have other things to do, and now we have to clean the kitchen again. So next time, remember when it's before closing that it's rude to order food." So I retorted, "so next time, why don't YOU remember to tell me that the kitchen is closed when I ask if it is ok to order this late. I will gladly go to another restaurant from now on." So I stopped going at night. The food is so good, I still go for lunch. Owners should not let their entitled children manage their stores at night - and they need remedial training in manners and professional conduct, and a lot...

Delicious delicious! It was worth every penny. It may be more expensive than your average banh mi shop, but I could taste why and I support the shop’s want to serve highly quality ingredients and I don’t mind paying for it.

I got the special and was incredibly impressed. There was a nice thick layer of pate which was warm! It tasted homemade versus store bought. The meats were also warm and thick slabs. I’m not the biggest fan of the bread shape, just it’s shape, but the bread itself was nicely crispy outside and soft inside. Veggies on point. My husband got the shaken beef, quality of the beef was great, cooked well.

I also got an avocado shake, gah, I haven’t had one in ages! It tasted just like how my grandma used to make them. You can taste the avocado and know it was fresh avocados and not powder. Their Thai tea was...

I got in line(there was one person in front of me) and I noticed that even when the space is small the place is clean and organized. There is one fridge with different drinks to choose and they also have some snacks. Outside there are 4 small tables for outdoor dining. I ordered the Pork special sandwich, pork&shrimp spring rolls and a mango mint smoothie. I am really impressed with this place, to be honest I have no complaints everything was delicious and fresh. When I say delicious I mean EXTREMELY delicious and mouth watering plus the portions are great. The pork special is not your regular sandwich and I would recommend it.
