This restaurant replaced Men Kee Restaurant where my family went for years for take out. They closed due to COVID and recently a new restaurant/owner took over! This place has a bakery section which you will see it right as you enter and then on the right is their restaurant part. I thought this was an interesting concept as you don’t normally see a restaurant doing this. We came on a Tuesday night and this is what we ordered: ⭐️Calamari $12.95: So crispy and yummy! Great portion. Just wish it came with some lemon wedges. ⭐️Salted fish, diced chicken, and eggplant clay pot $16.95: This was slightly to oily in my opinion, but my oh my it had so much salted fish!!! You definitely need to eat rice with this dish. Eggplants were cooked perfectly, so soft and love the crisp on the skin. ⭐️Fujian-style fried rice $14.95: Wasn’t a huge fan of this, everything felt a bit soggy. Almost felt like I was eating an undercooked porridge. Probably wouldn’t order it again~

New bakery on Noriega Ave by 24th Ave! The buns average $2.50 each. I liked the corn bun. Too bad I was too hungry and ate it all before I remembered about taking a picture. I also got a Hong Kong style milk tea and it was decent. Service is a little slow; there were 4 people in front of me in line and I had to wait roughly 15 minutes to pay. I expect it’ll get faster as everything works out.

If you don’t see a bun that you like in the trays, you can ask a cashier and they’ll tell you how long it’ll be until the next...

Really enjoyed this new bakery. I tried the cocktail bun, BBQ pork bun, and curry beef bun — all were fresh, soft, and flavorful. What stood out most was how clean and bright the shop is. You can tell they take care of the place.

The buns weren’t overly greasy or oily like a lot of bakeries in SF can be. The flavors aren’t punchy in that heavy, Instagram way — they’re more balanced and feel closer to homemade. Simple, satisfying,...
