We live nearby and have been going to Fifty Vara since it opened this winter, and it just keeps getting better. We are so excited (and relieved) to have a fun new go to around the corner. We even hosted my mom’s 25-person birthday upstairs and it couldn’t have been easier to plan. Everyone loved the food and the space, and it was a great value. Lately I’ve been loving the steak, the radiatore with shrimp, the garlic shrimp, and all the salads. Service is always friendly, cocktails are fun, and the menu changes enough to keep things interesting. We usually come with our two-year-old, and the space is big and lively with super high ceilings.

Everything that I hope an sf place is not. Simple burger, beer, and appetizer was $60+ Overpriced and overrated. You’d think that at that price the burger would be justified or phenomenal. It wasn’t. I’d be better served with a super duper burger. Similarly the beer felt like it was a backyard brew. Nothing close to what a west coast ipa. The kicker was the bartender left middle of our dinner without even letting us know. Meh service and quality of food was way overrated for the price. Feels like the kind of overpriced overrated spot I’d expect in Malibu or something. Save your time and money.

I think the almost all eaten fries tells you I was too focused on eating and too hungry to remember about taking a picture. lol Yes, garlic fries were good. The mushroom flatbread was super. The flatbread itself was excellent. I could eat that with a dip even without the mushroom. I think a little something like crushed pepper flakes or fresh crumbled goat cheese sprinkled on top could make it more vibrant tasting. I’m no chef so it’s just my personal opinion. Fantastic service! I sat outdoor which felt a bit chilly. My server said they will be installing outdoor heat lamps soon.

Are you kidding me with this place!?This is what this area needed! Something fresh and new! High vaulted ceiling, Clean aesthetic, beautiful art, green plants everywhere! Visited this place about mid week, it was slow, but picked up quick. Steven welcomed us at the door, joyful and very whole hearted, he lead us to our table. From that short interaction you could tell he’s an obvious corner stone to the restaurant. Once seated, Marino swung by, dropped off waters followed by John who took our initial appetizer orders both gentleman were tentative and helpful with pointing out customer favorites off the menu as well as their own. We ended up with asparagus, chips. Both absolute quality! Nick was our main server, obvious shift lead as he apologized that he was just getting to us due to some clerical work. Just like everyone else Nick was friendly, sympathetic and patient with our eagerness to try everything on the menu. We played it safe, went for the chicken and burger. Solid choice! Both had fantastic flavor and were very filling. My favorite, the burger for sure, as it came with crispy fries! We did order a couple drinks, I can’t recall the names but everything we had was delicious! Nick did us dirty and talked us into the chocolate cake, he even offered us a glass of milk! Wow fantastic way to end dinner! Over all I will 110% revisit this place again, hell wish I could be a regular! On our way out we ran into the owner, Brian, he thanked us for visiting and hoped to see us back as he said he has big plans for the place! So I’m coming back in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait...

Great new local spot with American food done really well and House-Brewed Craft Beer

If you're looking for a truly satisfying dining experience that captures the essence of a great local spot, this place should be at the top of your list. I dined alone so only got to try one entre but came back for brunch the next day.

What stood out immediately was the quality of the food. I ordered the pork chop, and I can honestly say it was one of the freshest and most flavorful I've had in quite some time. Perfectly cooked and juicy with a fresher twist compared to the barbequed ones I am used to in TX.

Equally impressive was the drink selection. Their in-house brewed craft beer lineup is something special--clearly made by people who know and love the art of brewing. I tried the black and hazy in a half pour which is a great option for exploring.

The rest of the drink menu is just as strong, offering a variety of well-crafted cocktails. The espresso martini with a mint twist was great.

All in all, this is exactly the kind of place every neighborhood hopes to have--delicious food, outstanding drinks, and a welcoming environment. Highly recommend supporting this local treasure. Parking is free...

I was so hopeful for this restaurant to be good because neighborhood places are so precious. And while I know it's new, I believe there are seasoned restauranteurs behind it, so one would expect the food to be better than just mediocre. We tried several dishes. The cold cucumber starter was unique and tasty, but after that, flavor was hard to find. The flatbread was either too chewy or a tooth-breaker. Nothing light, airy or nicely crisp about it. The crab cakes, which were highly recommended, were more like arancini and particularly flavorless, consisting mostly of rice. The pasta was out of balance, with thick pieces of pasta smothered in chunks of pork. Overall, a very unsatisfying meal in an otherwise sweet location with friendly service. This is SF, food should be a star, and if you open a restaurant, food should be a priority. And it feels like an...
