A must try Vietnamese - Chinese noodle store. Egg noodles is the best either thin or flat one!
We’re recommended by friends to try. Wide selection of Chinese-Vietnamese noodle soups, with egg noodle options. Not sure which number item on menu as i just ordered exactly picture shows online. We got:
Mix combination meat with wonton and thin egg noodles - soup on the side. Also added one duck leg and plate of fried fish cake.
— Noodle bowl comes with good portion of noodle, big filled wonton, mix of toppings : shrimp, ground pork, kidney, mini fish ball, crispy shrimp crackers. Simple dish but really good. I like the fish ball which must be house made. The shrimp crackers’s just ok - not special. The soup bowl separately on side. Have one bite of noodle and one sip of fresh soup. Just so good. You may find the broth is too simple, can’t compare to the full flavored Pho broth. But i think it’s simply make it a great dish really. However in my opinion, It will be perfect if they can add some greens like bokchoy or carrot. 4.9/5
On table you will see some extra seasoning sauce like with vinegar, jalapeño pickles , chili oil, hoisin, sriracha and soy sauce.
— Duck leg’s braised so it’s very soft, fell out of bone easily. Ppl will think it’s chicken. As duck’s usually tougher. I think The way it’s cooked long enough to soften the meat. 5/5
— Fried fish cake: very soft but needs more flavor. 3.5/5
— Vietnamese coffee: perfect!!!!! 5/5
Overalls: good dine in experience. Customer service ‘s great / very friendly. It can get very busy in the lunch time - Parking may be difficult. Paid street parking and make sure to park closed by or in front of restaurant so you can keep eyes on car. Restroom is clean.
Note: Some customers said there’s complimentary hot soy milk. As i already ordered the Vietnamese coffee and had not been offered about the soy milk. So i will check out to try it next time and the spicy satay beef noodle soup with special...
Read moreI had the most amazing dining experience at Thai Nghiep My Gia in Sunset San Francisco. As a fan of authentic Chinese cuisine, I was overjoyed to find a place that specializes in mouthwatering duck noodle and wonton dishes. The combination of flavors and textures was a true delight for my taste buds.
The duck noodle dish was an absolute standout. The tender duck meat, perfectly cooked noodles, and fragrant broth created a symphony of flavors that I can still taste in my memory. It's evident that the chefs pay great attention to detail and use high-quality ingredients to craft their dishes.
The wontons were equally impressive. Each bite was a burst of savory goodness, with the delicate wrapping and savory filling showcasing the mastery of Chinese culinary techniques. It's rare to find such authentic and flavorful wontons outside of traditional Chinese enclaves, and Thai Nghiep My Gia exceeded my expectations.
The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, providing a comfortable backdrop for a satisfying meal. The staff was attentive and friendly, eager to make sure every diner's experience was exceptional.
If you're a fan of Chinese-style duck noodle and wonton dishes, Thai Nghiep My Gia is an absolute must-visit. The dedication to authentic flavors and the impeccable execution of each dish make it a hidden gem in the Sunset neighborhood. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to savor these delectable...
Read moreThis restaurant is a bit of a hole in the wall Vietnamese/Chinese noodle soup restaurant that serves a well known egg noodle. Very popular for neighborhood locals.
We tried the braised duck leg that comes with wontons and egg noodles. You can choose from the narrow noodles or the wide ones and to get the soup on the side or mixed in.
The duck leg is braised so that the meat is soft and falls right off the bone. The wontons were nice and had a slight bouncy texture. They have a chili paste in the condiments on the table that brings the flavors to the next level!
We also tried the beef stew noodles which was alright, the flavors were a bit mild, not for saltiness, just in terms of spices. There was lots of tendon that came with the dish, but only one piece of meat (you can see it in the picture).
I did wish there were some green vegetables that came with the dishes.
You also get an option to have complimentary soy milk hot or cold with your meal, which was pretty nice!
The restaurant is quite packed for lunch. Luckily today we went for a late lunch and got a table right away. The restaurant is clean and staff are nice and efficient.
Prices are pretty decent and the portion size filled us up....
