I've attended four different colleges, hold about 12+ certifications between the food/beverage and wellness industries, and have participated in a few intensive learning bootcamps. Some of which have 4.5-4.9 star ratings via their associated rating systems.

The San Francisco School of Massage tops them all, and I would give them a six out of five if google would allow me. They are undoubtedly the world's leading institution on body work. Michelin 3 star restaurants could even venture to learn deeply from it's structure/execution.

I did rather deep research prior to applying and considered the Rolf institute in Boulder Colorado to be the top institution. With the average price of other massage schools being around $15,000-$20,000. However, my interactions with Erica my intake specialist and Mar in student Admin gave me massive green flags to investigate.

Sarah the Financial Aid Director then gave me the most comprehensive help I've experienced so far in Higher Ed., Richard led me on a very warm in person tour to see the gorgeous, naturally lit classrooms.

I moved 300+ miles to attend and have been at the school for just over six weeks. The instructors are at the top of the field and their respective specialties.

Annie's as brilliant as she is adept at massage. Her massage flow and application of anatomy are something to behold. She is especially generous in sharing her massage wisdom and compliments with our cohort.

Donny's a riot of fun while being a living index of linguistics. Also a voice of pragmatism as it concerns the elephants in the room within the massage field. Refreshingly candid and fun.

Bryan is especially adept at body mechanics. With a very kind and guiding voice that shows us how to apply our book knowledge to the massage table. His posture and mechanics are top tier.

Nicole is hilarious, kind, warm, and a deep voice of reason. Her ethics course is exceptional and she epitomizes the non-judgmental atmosphere of the school. A delight to learn from.

I look forward to meeting the other staff. As they've been very warm in brief introductions and helping our student cohort to succeed.

My most recent college degree is in Business. Where we learn all about a phenomena called "tone at the top". The "tone", knowledge curation, selection of teachers, and quality assurance the director of the school provides are unprecedentedly ahead of many fields. If the school wanted to charge $30,000 and up their marketing they could. If they wanted to franchise they would be able to. Yet, all of this high quality instruction is rewarded to those who find this gem of an institution.

From the moment I stepped in the door, I knew this place was special. Words cannot ever express how profound and life changing my experience here has been. But I will try and capture what makes this place so special.

The staff and instructors are the most accomplished and inspiring bodywork professionals in the industry. They are technically skilled, but beyond that they are passionate and kind and amazing healers. They consistently went above and beyond to connect with us and to share their knowledge, time and expertise. Sarah, Emily, Gary, Lilli Ann, Adriene, Leah and Shelby gave me the knowledge, skills and mentorship to make me a successful bodyworker.

The curriculum is top notch. I cannot believe how thoughtful and calculated the syllabus and materials were designed. Day by day my brain slowly grew at just the right pace. I never felt overwhelmed. Topics were introduced in theory, practiced hands on in class, and revisited to solidify them. They know EXACTLY how to make students knowledgeable, skilled and confident. And while there are requirements and core curriculum, they help bring out your own unique skills and style. They encouraged me to find "my massage" style.

My classmates quickly became "my tribe". The professional and personal relationships I gained here will last a lifetime. I never expected that and am profoundly grateful for them. This only happened because of the amazing learning environment the school established.

In addition to textbook learning and hands on demonstrations and practice in class, I learned so much through the school's Massage Lab clinic. There I practiced and perfected my craft. This sets SFSMBW apart. I feel as though I'm graduating with months of relevant work experience under my belt and as such have the confidence to go after any job.

If you are reading this, then you are probably wondering If you should take a leap and enroll with SFSM family (it will feel like a family in no time). Even tho talking to charming Gary probably already may have convinced you.

100000000% yes, even if you do not end up being a therapist, the awareness of your body and of other people will change the course of your life towards happier and healthier living, you learn the tools how to be healthy and fit.

Enrolling with SFSM was one of the best decisions of my life. I am truly a better person after finishing the school, I am so much healthier, my posture is better, and I gave the power of healing touch to my friends and family, the world around me is a better place.

I found the instructors to be highly skilled and professional therapists themselves, the lessons were always highly interactive and I received SOOOO much useful and necessary knowledge, it’s for sure a bang for the buck you pay because you will come out a therapist who is ready to go and heal people. Not a single instructor left me unsatisfied, I experienced each person to be on top of their game, each teacher had something very unique to share, so my set skills is a blend of their knowledge.

The school also has been my healing sanctuary throughout the difficult times, I would come to the class and feel instantly better, more grounded and at peace. If you care about the energy realm, I also can reassure you that they teach that. I got more attuned with the energetic world and energies of around me through this program.

And do not even get me started on the admins. They are pure angels, always making sure you stay on top of your responsibilities, they are basically babysitting you and holding your hand while you go through the program.
