San Francisco Food Guide: A Review of 30 Must-Try Restaurants 🔥

THE BEST GLUTEN FREE GARLIC NAAN OF ALL THE LAND!!! Oh my…this place is a GODSEND for us gluten intolerant people! (Celiac here) Finally able to have garlic naan after so many years. It was glorious, especially paired with some butter chicken. Not to mention, majority of the menu is GF friendly! The salmon pakora was a nice surprise, super flavorful & interesting texture! The free papadam with the sweet sauce reminded me of fried wonton and sweet/sour sauce, which I also haven’t had in ages. I don’t think I need to tell you this, but do not skip out on the mango lassi!!! Yes it is neon orange but it’s their homemade recipe using Kesar mangoes! It’s got right balance between sweet, tangy, and tart. Perfect pairing to calm the spice ☺️ Everything was absolutely divine and well-priced. We even ordered a GF pesto garlic naan to take home, so worth. Servers were graciously nice and attentive. Ambiance—my only complaint was the front of the restaurant kind of smelled like cat pee 😅 thankfully there is a quaint dining room in the back, tucked away from that/the street! Regardless, I would bring all my friends here. Staff was super friendly and accommodating to the couples and large groups dining in, and the menu is super inclusive. I appreciate establishments like Om Indian and I would definitely travel to eat it. Such a special place to me/us GF eaters!!

The staff at this restraunt was very attentive. The food came out quickly, and the service was great. I wanted this to be my new favorite spot, but unfortunately it wasn’t. The food curries were blander than I would expect, and I ordered the medium spice level with basically no spice at all. I would have appreciated more of a kick and had to ask for a bit of salt (which I always feel bad about and try to avoid). The garlic naan was alright, I wish it was a bit thicker, but the bread itself was fine. If the prices were lower, I would up the rating to 4 stars for relative value, but with the current prices I felt 3 stars was better aligned. Since I live nearby, I hope to try this spot again soon and give it another shot.

Most important factor for us is the food itself, and here the flavors and cooking style were great! We always get our usual dishes at every Indian restaurant and so are accustomed to how they are supposed to taste (despite not being Indian…we get Indian at least once a week or every other week at different restaurants around town). Seasonings were great and crispy things were crispy and naan wasn’t burnt and dry. Only complaint was the biryani rice portion size was a bit small. Next is the service: I don’t usually care about service unless it is substantially lacking but service here was excellent, they checked on us a bunch of times. I also noticed a portable baby changing bassinet in the bathroom which was appreciated- many other restaurants don’t go out of their way to provide that and even though I didn’t need it tonight, we do have a baby and had i needed to change her, it would have been frustrating to not have a baby changing table in the bathroom. Finally, I don’t care about atmosphere much as long as it’s not dirty or uncomfortable for some reason, so would say that it was average, nothing extraordinary but nothing too shabby. Overall would return again if in the area. And this was the 2nd time...

Our party of 9 persons (5 adults & 4 children ages 12 - 15 years old) spontaneously chose to eat Saturday night dinner at Om Indian Cuisine after receiving a recommendation from a friend who lives locally. Despite our lack of a reservation, Om Indian Cuisine immediately seated us in the back dining room. Our multi-lingual server, Allwin from Goa, India, was attentive without hovering, asking our opinions about our meal (delicious!}, refilling our water glasses as needed, and efficiently clearing plates. Highly recommended the Mango Lassi drinks and Garlic Naan, which arrived freshly baked and piping hot. We originally requested 2 orders of Garlic Naan and requested another order halfway through the meal. Atmosphere is relaxed and not too noisy. I could comfortably hear my dining companions throughout the meal. Clean bathrooms, great service, satisfying dishes. Thank you for a reasonably priced, excellent experience for our group of local East Bay Area Californians and out-of-state friends visiting San Francisco for...
