accuracy is not key here i ordered a quesadilla and nachos but i got a quesadilla and regular which is more expensive and a waste of money for the extra food i already knew i wouldn't be able to eat it that's why i didn't order it. on the menu is nachos which come with cheese, beans and salsa while the nachos have the same plus meat. this significantly increase the chances for a misunderstanding in the ordering process in this case in the businesses favor.i think it was done on purpose just to charge me more considering she never asked what meat i wanted, she just added steak.Asking whether the order is to go or to stay is also not really a thing in this city. they didn't ask if i wanted it to go just assumed which would be annoying alone but with the knowledge that I've been dining in at this place everyday for the past two weeks and tipping and all it got me an inaccurate and wasteful order not to mention the fact that the more i eat the food the more i realize its lacking in flavor and messing with my stomach. when i went up to the cashier to ask for the quesadilla which was incredibly greasy to be put on a plate to eat with a fork and knife and she puts it on on wax paper on a plastic plate so i end inadvertently eating wax paper that the cheese stuck too. this place has left a horrible taste in my mouth . street taco across the street three storefronts down has way better food. i was coming here for the price alone but if im gonna be charged for things i dont want ill save more money...

Got 2 tripas and 1 carnitas taco with Victoria 32oz (f#@& YEAH!). $19.... Wait.. what? 2 tripas 3.50 times two.. er. Plus carnitas 3.50.. so.. er 7 plus 3.50... oh hmm 10.50. So 11 or 14 with some fascist commie tax and oh.. hmm 5 for a 32 in a restaurant. . Oh God it's San Francisco in 2017... is this actually almost a good deal...?? Really...? Time to crawl back to oakland....
Carnitas is good. It's not super filling like the anorexic reviews say, but the portion is meat heavy. Not bad. They fry/char meat less than most and use tomatoe... I forget if this is good or not since most carnitas is so fried and greasy devoid of all not pork or lard.... I think I'll say it's good then.
Tripas... well... same as carnitas. Why am I able to taste differing flavours on my palate that are not grease, char, intestinal feces, or soap? Very odd. It is almost marrow like at times, with a little subtle tomatoe...? Wow. Ok. New flavours. OK then. I almost want 1 more of each or maybe 2 of each but I only have 0 monies so I won't today.
So... oh. Yeah. It's a good place to eat. I don't understand the staff, the TV plays some univision telemundo drama soap opera that I can't understand either, the decor is reminiscent of what the 80s looked like I think so I like! Authentic for Mexican restaurant in my mind...
Read moreIt's a shame this place only has an even four stars. I'll avoid the temptation to list all the reasons why I'm more Mexican than you (I'm' suuuuper Mexican) and therefore my opinion means more than yours (looking at you, Mr. Goldfish with mayonaise). All people being an equal shade of grey, this is the best taqueria in town. I know I know, I've been a big Farralito supporter for years, but this little gem takes the cake. They cook their meat with some kind of fruit or apple wood, giving the flavor depth and complexity unlike anywhere else in the city. Very true, the pickins are slim, so the competition isn't exactly fierce, but even if it were, I have a hard time seeing anyone give El Rancho Grande a run for their money. Take it from me, I'm a ninth generation Californian (argh, I...
