Osha Thai BBQ San Francisco — Restaurant in San Francisco

I tend to favor this Osha location over the others because of its late night hours, mostly stemming from my late night Thai cravings. This location offers you the most casual experience compared to its Union, 2nd or Embarcadero locations. As far as the city goes, I'd have to say Osha and King of Noodles are the best Thai restaurants in terms of authenticity. Osha Geary usually does a good job, but I had one bad experience where I ordered a classic Thai favorite that wasn't on the menu: Pad Ga Pow (Stir-fried basil with meat). They gave me a quarter serving of rice noodles, perhaps to offset the cost of the basil going in? Who knows, but that did not please me. I typically stick to the favorites like KaoPad Boo (Crab Fried Rice) or Pad See Ew.

Oh and when Winter comes along, make sure you don't get seated near the entrance. When lines form outside and the host constantly checks on them, you'll receive quite the breeze that instantly chills your food. It's worth another 10-15 minute wait, unless you're one of those freaks who eats cold pizza.

After a night at one of my my staples, Rye, I love that I can walk next door in a drunken stupor and get fed. There's always a super long line if you're going after drinking, so be prepared to wait.

I always have to order their Pad See Ew and Volcanic Beef, the perfect combo when drunk! The beef is so yummy and tender and it's served with onion rings!

However, there is a HUGE WARNING! Beware of the Osha Thai food stealer! My friends and I were eating there one night and some guy just stole a dish off our table and walked out the door. A server ran after him, but he wasn't able to catch up. They were nice enough to replace our dish, but apparently this has happened before since a girl at another table informed us. Ridiculous.

But besides all that nonsense, I still come back because of the great food and convenience. Also, I secretly hope he comes back and tries to steal our food again because then I'll be ready with...

This place was very busy!! But they handled it with ease! Was told a 5-10 minute wait, and it was a speedy 7 minutes. The girl who took my order was very nice. And said thank you for waiting... I didn’t even wait that long! Lol. But that was nice to hear. I ordered the Tom kah soup!!! Very good!! I thought they put noodles in it. upon opening it I was like well this is weird... But nope it was quite a surprise to find out those were mushrooms! Never seen that before. Love it!!! That was also quite a huge portion!! I am stuffed! And some of those delivery drivers dressed in helmets, and awesome scooters. They looked like mad max special delivery edition. Maybe jump on the back of one and hitch a ride next time!
