We decided to visit Players on Pier 39 in San Francisco for lunch and were greeted on arrival with a friendly welcome. As it was a little quiet, we were given a choice of seating options which was a nice start. Our server, Allison (name taken from the check), came over to take our drinks orders and then returned to go through our food options. She was pleasant, helpful and attentive throughout our visit which made the experience more enjoyable. For food we decided to share nachos and chicken strips, and we chose to upgrade the fries to garlic fries. After a short wait our food arrived, nicely presented and enjoyable to eat. The nachos were a good size for sharing and the garlic fries were a tasty addition. Players has plenty of TV screens around the venue which makes it a great spot for watching sports. During our visit we were able to watch Premier League football which was a highlight, although the sound was not available. The music playing in the background was actually good though, so it did not take away from the experience. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit made better by the great service from Allison and the relaxed setting.

I proposed to my fiancé on 4/14/24, and I couldn't have done it without help from the staff at Pier 39 Players Sports Grill & Arcade! One part of the proposal involved having my fiancé win a custom plush modeled after her pet dog (containing clues to the next part of the proposal), which was displayed in the prize cage at the arcade. I had reached out to James and Joe to see if they wanted to be involved in my engagement proposal and he was more than happy to help me out and find ways to make the day run as smoothly as possible. I was able to ship the stuffed animal to their team without any issues, and the arcade staff were great in coordinating everything on the day of. My fiancé had a such a shock seeing her dog replica in the prize cage and loved playing the different arcade games to win tickets (she ended up winning jackpots on two of the games, which was very much unplanned haha). My experience with the management and staff in planning this day is a testament to their care, generosity, and attentiveness. Will definitely stop by again for some games and nostalgia next time we're in the area!

I’ve never felt so humiliated in my life as I did at this establishment. My sisters and I went in expecting a simple meal and some time together, but what we encountered was blatant discrimination. While other guests were served without hesitation, we were ignored. The bartender looked directly at us and continued serving every other customer around us. Minutes turned into nearly half an hour, and still nothing. We were the only ones consistently passed over, despite being respectful and patient. This wasn’t just poor service. It was targeted exclusion. It was demeaning, hurtful, and something I will never forget. No one should walk into a restaurant and feel like their presence is unwanted because of who they are. If you care about fairness, respect, and basic human decency, avoid this place. Until management acknowledges and addresses the racism in their staff, it does not deserve the business of any decent person.

The hostess was nice and welcoming. When we sat down our waiter apparently had an attitude. I would mention his name, but he didn't give when he approached the table. We asked him what drinks were offered, he pointed to a menu on the table. We asked him if that meant the drink options were in there & he mumbled (as in yes). He brought our drinks, when asked for straws (a sin) he gave one hadn't been open & one that was unwrapped. The drinks were nasty, so when he came back, we asked that he bring us different drinks. He looked at us as if we were making it up. He brought our drinks back, I asked for another straw and he had an issue with that. Our food came out, I had the lasagna, which it was old & obvious to the last and look that it was old, and had been reheated. Not once did the waiter come by our table to see if we were enjoying our meal. However, he made time with the table behind us and carried on a conversation with them for several minutes. I asked the food runner for the manager. The waiter then walked up to us and sarcastically said, "the manager will be here". Once again, not once did he ask about our meal, etc. When the manager came, I informed him of what you just read, and he said "the bill is on me". When I asked about the waiter he stated he was too busy to address it, but he would. I believe he was full of it and it didn't get addressed. This is also the same manager who apparently was too busy to sanitize a table before seating the next guests. I will not eat here again,...

If possible I’d give zero stars. This restaurant was ATROCIOUS. We’re frequent bay visitors, always spending hours of our visit at the pier. This is hands down the only time we’ve received genuinely horrible service. They had no waitlist or efficient wait system, we all had to stand there in a cluster of other diners while the hosts seemed confused. The restaurant was filthy, and the bathrooms disgusting. When we were finally sat and received 2 out of 4 of our drinks, they were flat sodas. Our appetizer was okay, not great. We sat there forever without our server coming back to take our orders, still waiting for our other two drinks, and a huge barking German Shepard seated two feet away at the bar. The bartenders didn’t seem bothered as one of them filled up his glass from the beer taps multiple times and proceeded to chug it. It overall was a sketchy vibe so we decided to pay our tab at the bar and leave. The bartender proceeded to try and charge us for the two blended drinks we never received. When we asked for a corrected tab, he was very short and sassy and then made a show of pouring the apparently blended drink that had been just sitting on the bar melting, into a glass in front of us. The drinking bartender proceeded to drink from the bar throughout this. Finally we were able to leave, but not after having to pay 20$ for two flat sodas and meh potstickers. Save your money and go to Pier Market or one of the multiple other eateries...

On my visit, we walked into the arcade with our almost two year old daughter and a friend we brought to CA with us on a trip, and the place seemed really empty. We were greeted with a confirmation of a 10 minute wait and we agreed. After 20 minutes they got us to a table finally. We didn't even get spoken to for our drink order until about 30 minutes went by, and asking about their coffee drinks with the section they have on the menu, and nothing available but plain coffee. Alright, okay. That's cool, but then I asked for a diabetic coma amount of sugar and cream, I just like it that way, and they brought me milk but didn't know where they had sugar at. They didn't have any options for a dairy allergy for my kid, but they at least had French fries she could eat. I had ordered their fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, and it was pretty good, but it resembled a taco seasoning on the chicken. Their fries were the amazing part of this and is the only reason I'm giving them the 3 stars, because with how long we waited for every thing from arrival to bringing out our food, it definitely ate the whole 20 dollars I paid for parking for 2 hours and had to pay for more time just to avoid a fee to get back to my car. I wish I would've hit another spot for food, but gaming seemed neat and like a more fun and less serious atmosphere, but this was way too slack for me and seemed as if they needed...
