Split — Restaurant in San Francisco

Went in for lunch on a Friday around 11:45. Had initially walked over to The Bird, but the line was way too long for my liking. This place had a much smaller line and it moved fairly quickly. It's definitely pricier than the bird, with most fried chicken sandwiches in the $11 - $14 range.

I got the buffalo fried chicken sandwich to go. It came out in about a minute or two. I was super surprised by the speed.

The sandwich itself was really good. The piece of chicken was large, and tender. Wish they had some spicy -er version of the sandwich though. The buffalo is their "spicy" option.

Definitely a place I'd go to again for lunch. It's spacious inside, if you wanna eat there, good food,...

Bottom line: avoid this place like the plague it is

The theme of this restaurant might as well be "soggy". I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and the sweet potato fries. Both came out as if they'd been sitting in a steamer for an hour. Soggy.

At this point I'm used to the sticker shock in SF. But it was $20 for the mediocre sandwich and fries. You'd be better served going to the blue-tented bahn mi stand in front of Split (on Mission), where you can get a delicious and well portioned sandwich for $5. Yes that's right, $5.

To add insult to injury they charge for their ranch....

This is my go-to place for salads and sandwiches when I'm in the Financial District. The salads are always fresh and tasty, and they have a great variety of options to choose from. I particularly love the Mandarin salad with grilled chicken. The sandwiches are also delicious, especially the crispy chicken sandwich.
