I had my birthday dinner here, the food is really good, the people in charge is kind and nice. The only thing is the food to arrive to your table it take some time, for example between the second and third course it was like 25-30 minutes; it was a lot. I am not sure if is always like that or it was a one day thing. I ordered my dinner without wasabi, and in the last course one of my nigiri had wasabi I told them and they very responsive and everyone come and give an apology, it was not necessary but I appreciated. The third course (soup) it was amazing, the first round of nigiri espectacular 👌🏻. They have a great choices of sake. They have 3 options, 13, 15 and 19 courses, we got 15 and I think it was enough 👌🏻. In general is a good restaurant, the only thing that I don’t love it was the long time between some courses. Thank you to the chef that comes out and talk to us.

Wow - great food! So this is our second time coming here. The first time we came was 6 years ago, and it was good so we returned. Interestingly though I found this second time even better than the first. Chef Ono is both personable and a master at his craft! Try to get a counter seat reservation. He comes from 3 generations of sushi chefs. (I also wondered if he was related to the famed Jiro Ono). Anyway, I loved every single course that came out. The firefly squid was so good, cod was so tasty, the sushi was phenomenal and done expertly, uni, even the dessert was the perfect bite. Great alcoholic beverage selection. Also, the Head of Hospitality (Kenichiro) was extremely kind and engaging. He also gave killer sake recommendations. Highly recommend!

This restaurant after re-opening from the pandemic, is officially Sushi Hashiri, version 2.0. In many ways it is a drastic improvement over the original, as there are only two staff: chef and manager. Chef Ono has incredible skills, passion, and offers a style of Tokyo Edomae style sushi that is of a particular lineage that not many are aware of. There is much less emphasis to none on aging fish, and the sake lees vinegar used to season the rice (along with salt) is of a particular brand that offers just enough sourness and acidity, thus letting a more subtle balance and showcase of natural flavors. Tuna of any cut is very strong here due to an exclusive sourcing, handling, and use of some eclectic cuts where you can taste texture and the inherent flavor of tuna just like in Japan. All nigiri are crafted with proper thickness, cut, ratios of rice to fish, with awesome resultant textures and mouthfeel with just the right amount of seasoned soy sauce brushed on top to make it complete. The full course including cooked appetizers is highly recommended to experience the full versatility of Chef Ono, where they showcase aesthetics, seasonality, and serious skill in a manner that is almost minimalist in nature, but absolutely complex in nuance and subtleties. This is nothing like some of the Michelin Japanese and fine dining omakase themed restaurants in town, yet is fast becoming a favorite and offers quality that in many ways surpass. Severely underrated at this point, and is a destination stop especially those who have traveled to Japan and have experienced Ginza quality sushi (even if non Michelin but high standard). No caviar, no gold flakes, no wagyu here, only 1000% technique and passion. Excellent service on top of all that for a...

I'm crazy about Japanese food, so naturally I was drawn to this fairly new 1 Michelin star restaurant. Came here on vday and had the prefix menu of kaiseki dinner and sushi nigiri . Everything was amazing or over the top in taste. Having just came back from Japan, my expectations was very high and I have to say I was very pleased! The waiter mentioned that everything down to ingredients came from Japan! Taste and temperature was on point! I need to come back to try the regular menu. Dessert was delish too and I don't have a sweet tooth. Service here is tiptop! Our waiter was probably best I've seen considering I've dine at many fine restaurants. He was knowledgeable, friendly, pleasant, and polite. I felt at ease and very comfortable. I honestly can't say that about a lot of fine dining services. Ambience was modern yet still pretty cozy and private. There is one downside. This place is off the main street, tucked away in kind of an alley. Unless you live in the city, finding parking and locating the restaurant will be a nightmare!! I wished they had valet service. Lastly, the bill was very very pricey! All I can say is that there has been a few times where the bill was pricey yet the food was MEH , this wasn't the case. Pricey but...

Have you been to Japan, to one of those exquisite sushi restaurants with only 7 seats? You will feel you're back there, in every sense. The quality of the food, the attentive but discreet service, the way the food is prepared, the harmony of the dishes and the set up of the counter...not to mention the very talented chef - the rice is cooked to perfection, the size and pressure of the sushi rice is excellent, the wasabi just right, and so is the fish cutting technique and balance of each piece of nigiri. You can always tell the skill of a sushi chef by its ginger - a very deep but delicate crunchy taste, so pleasant! I also had a negitoro roll, probably one of the best I've ever had, including in Japan. Most of the fish (if not all) are brought directly from Japan. A real treat! The uni was to die for - please don't without trying it.

If you have never been to Japan, this wonderful restaurant can give you a glimpse of the real deal, you can "travel" there for the duration of the meal. I can't recommend this place enough. I ordered a la carte, but next time I'm in town, I will more than certainly come here to try their omakase menu. Well done chef Ono, you and your Team have achieve excellence, to...
