I am addicted! I've been coming to Working Girls' Cafe for over 5 years now. Every time I come here I tell myself, "try something different", and believe me I try, but eight out of ten times I end up ordering the same thing; the California Cobb Bowl!! I can't help it! As I get closer to the Working Girls' Cafe my imagination starts going into hyper drive mode and I see myself digging into this flavorful bowl of goodness, my taste buds wake up, my heart starts beating faster and faster and by the time I am at the counter and my now good friends at the other side of the counter ask me if I want the "regular" I automatically respond affirmative!! The darn thing is a full meal! There is everything in it and they are all delicious! What is in it? Well it's got Chicken Breast, Avocado, Bacon, Gorgonzola Cheese, Hard boiled Egg, Cucumber, Tomato, and Red Onions and it is all served on a bed of Organic Kale and Organic Quinoa, with Balsamic Vinaigrette on the side. Aside from the California Cobb Bowl, the sandwiches here are to die for! Take the California Melt sandwich which I had last time I was there. It is delicious! A thick layer of smoked turkey, surrounded by fresh lettuce, tomato and onion on one side and bacon, melted Swiss cheese, and avocado on the other all between two layers of warm and toasted soft roll. The coffee is pretty good too! I usually leave holding cup containing a shot of espresso designed to keep me awake the rest of the afternoon!

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but this was one of the worst coffee experiences I’ve had in San Francisco. First, the coffee. My partner literally winced at his first sip — it was that bitter and unpleasant. He even said something like, “Oh no, this is bad,” and he wasn’t exaggerating. And to top it off, he accidentally spilled some on me (ouch). Normally, good coffee can make up for clumsy moments. Unfortunately, this one wasn’t even worth the stain. The vibe was equally disappointing. Instead of the welcoming energy you’d hope for in a café, it felt rushed, careless, and uninspired. There are so many great spots in the city for coffee and a quick bite — this place just isn’t one of them. Bottom line: If you want burnt-tasting coffee and a forgettable experience, this might be your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

My go-to lunch item is the Chipotle Chicken salad. Their portions are large and seasoned perfectly. The owner and staff are friendly. The space feels small because there are always so many people ordering food. There's also a nice sitting area right next door, outside. I need to try more of the options on the menu. Also, I just did a last minute large order of avocado toast for my team. Most places require a 24-48hr notice. Great for a small business!

This is a long-running SF small business office-lunch institution with long-time employees; we are so lucky to have businesses like Working Girls' Cafe in our city.

After the pandemic when I returned to office at a new tech job in the Embarcadero area, I was delighted to see that there was a Working Girls' Cafe in my building (I would go to the New Montgomery location often in the Before Times). At this location, Faheem, German, and Sebia are friendly to all customers (regular and new alike), and serve up a delicious variety of breakfast offerings, and lunch sandos and salads. I am so grateful and happy for what they bring to the downtown community. Thank you, Working Girls',...
