I've driven past this place about a million times and never even noticed until my husband mentioned his coworker telling him how good it is. So, we tried it. We walked in and the place is completely simple, simple seating, simple menu, very laid back. They have Coke products on tap and, having never tried a real Philly cheese steak sandwich before, I embraced the menu and ordered the chicken Philly with the works. This included onion, bell pepper, melted Mozz, and some of the most tender and flavorful chicken I have ever had! It came in a hoagie type roll that was warm and soft and had just the right amount of juice in the filling to keep the bite somewhat moist but not soaking or weighing down the bread-it held together completely from start to finish! The cheese was cheesy, warm, and plentiful and even though I ordered a small (8" I believe) the size of this sandwich was almost comparable to a footlong at Subway-it was huge! My husband got the original Philly Cheese Steak and, although I didn't try it, I could tell before he even said anything after that first bite that he loved it! Having had many Philly cheese steak sandwiches, he said this was just about the best one he's had! We also got an order of cheese fries and the basket was huge, gaping hot, with crinkle fries on the softer side but with a crisp exterior and the cheddar cheese dip on top that was drizzled was so addicting! Could not stop eating them! All in all, we paid $33 for three small philly sandwiches, three fountain drinks, and an order of fries with cheese! So glad we came here and planning to be...
Read moreI wish there was a zero star option, i was hungry and i was looking forward to try their food, i looked them up on google found their menu placed an order and went to pick it up when i got there, the girl behind the counter asked for $41.95 which $11 higher than the price listed on their google menu, she said yeah we don't care about that we follow the pricing at the menu in the restaurant, i told her that if i could speak to the manager, she said he is not here, i said okay i will pay now and come back later or i will just write a review about this, she took my money and called the manager she explained to him to what happened, then she reaches in her register get my back my money says we don't want to sell you any more because you will write us a bad review anyway. Of course you will get a bad a review if you raise the price 30% on your customers than what advertise and yes you will get a bad review if you treat you customers like that, and you will get a bad review if refuse to sell your customers because you don't want them to be transparent about their personal experience with your business. The food was ready and would rather throw it in the trash than sell it to me at the higher price, i have over 5 years in food industry and 10 years in customer service, i would never treat my customers this way or handle a situation like this, here is a picture of their prices on google menu's. I will never ever go over there or recommend this...
Read moreBeing from Philly and new to SJ I just wanted to taste of home. I read some of the reviews and said ok I’ll try it. I should have read ALL the reviews. I ordered a Chicken Cheesesteak and small garlic fries. The Garlic fries were on point. But that cheesesteak was not it. I asked for light mayo and looks like I got extra mayo, the meat has No absolutely No flavor the Bread is soggy from the meat. Can we Please stop calling these Philly cheesesteaks. Call them what they are, A California Imitation of a Cheesesteak. A $23 order and all I took was 3 bites. That’s how nasty it was. But again the garlic fries was done good enough for my taste. Wish I could give it a -5 stars.
This is in reply to the owner cause I don’t see an option to reply to your comment.:
#1 I ate at the establishment. I swiped my card at 4:49pm for a total of $22.79. #2 The bread used for Authentic Cheesesteaks are Amaroso’s. Believe me the bread makes a real difference #3 A Chicken Cheesesteak should basically taste the same as a regular cheesesteak, just with chicken instead of beef. I would gladly meet for a sit-down to help with suggestions. And being a native of Philly I would love to have a place to eat here in SJ to...
