Held hostage for ALMOST AN HOUR by the server at Denny's! So okay well, that's how it felt after asking for the check and not getting the check. Then asking for the check again and not getting the check again. Then going to another food server and asking for a manager and not getting a manager. And then walking through the kitchen to the back to the office to get a manager to release me from being held hostage!
I arrived to Denny's just a few minutes after 8:00 am, thinking I have about an hour until my shift starts at 9 and I can start the "beginning" of my shift remotely (but only the beginning).
There was me and only one other table and still it took over half an hour to get my food. I ate until after a little after 9. He did not check on me one single time during my meal. In fact at some point I had to get up and get my own napkins and creamer from the kitchen.
Then I had to face all the way around for several minutes until he finally came out to ask for the check. By this time the restaurant was full, so I still had to wait still and then finally I was able to ask for the check at 9:25. I was practically dozing off and by the time I looked at my watch it was 9:55. So I got up and started asking for a manager from the other food server, but my food server asked what I would like? I said I would like everything I asked for half an hour ago that included the check! Another 5 minutes he brought me the wrong items with a GIANT HAIR on one of them and STILL NO CHECK!
I got up and went to the other food server and said, "I want to talk to a manager NOW!" I emphasized now and she said, "Okay" and then she went to another table to take an order. I'm like, "Okay not NOW?
Then I walked through the kitchen to the back office to get the manager and tell her I'm tired of being held hostage I want to leave! I explained my situation and showed her the giant hair and a bunch of garbage underneath the table next to me that I had to look at the entire time. She said, "You can leave."
As I'm walking out the door the food server YELLS OUT to the entire restaurant, " SHE DIDN'T PAY!"
So after waiting SEVERAL MINUTES to simply ask for the check and then more waiting for an HALF AN HOUR for the check and then another FIVE MINUTES for the check again and still not getting the. check and then MORE MINUTES trying to get help from other people to get the check and by this time is at least 45 minutes just for the check that I never saw! And he's complaining that I didn't pay it! Exactly how long did he expect me to wait?!?
So to add INSULT to INJURY, he had to make sure to HUMILIATE me on the way out.
I immediately stopped at the door and turned around, at this point I YELLED out to manager about 20 feet away, "That's right I didn't pay! You said I could leave! That's right I didn't pay! You said I could leave! Then she again said, "You can leave." That's was about 10 am almost two full aggravating hours, until the end when I was livid!
There was a camera there documenting the entire thing on 8/21/25 from approximately 8:03 am to 9:59 am. I do not know if there's audio, but there was a camera pointed at me the entire time. So Denny's can check what time I got there and what time I left and what time everything happened. Yeah right like they care, ha!
It has upset me so much I keep making mistakes today and having a rotten day! I'm also so embarrassed that it's affecting me like this! Denny's is a horrible unprofessional and...
Read moreTonight I got very disappointing with the service provided to us at this Dennys restaurant Blossom hill location ,I want to say that Mary C waitress customer skills is not that great, ,never been great ,we have been many times at this location her actitud dosent help her much ,but still when we get served by her we always leave her tip.this is because I really believed she needs this job .but more than complaining about her I want to complain about the owner for this franchise, because from my point of view slavery was over long ago ,but it looks like is back in many places in America besides this Dennys location ....for the last couple months since I started visiting the location ,it have been only one waitress and the cooker serving people, the location is pack most of the time ,a busy location ,the waitress beside Mary C .most of the time served us she provided exellente service to us and to all the clients she serve .I can tell probably she loves what she does that she dosent care the owners could take adventage of her necessity to make ends meet, she needs to stand up for her self. and get a better job or better pay. about Mary the other waitress her performance is not that great , but she also need to be considered ,I understand that their lock of skills to get a better job could be the barrier in tossing this waitress job,but this girls need to stand up for them self's, both ! The owner locations need to hired more people to allow better custumer service to this busy location .tonigh a group of 5 people left because one waitress was serving the entire floor of 8 tables with a party from 2 to 6 people ,she was not able to deliver properly so instead of judging her mistakes ,let's understand that her poor performance was due to overwork, bad for business.! Quality service lately is going in decline in America ,as well as food quality .where are we going to end if we continue to ignore situations like this one .Who's fault is this ?.We the consumers, but also the greedy owners and what about our government 🤔 it feels so wrong !..from overcook ,cold French fries that look like leftovers, coffe at the end of the meal, water at he end of the coffe ,attitude from the overworked overconfused ,tired waitress ,labor laws that dosent protect or benefit workers, existing ones never get enforced properly what...
Read moreThis place is not that great. The food was okay, it would have been better if I got what I had ordered though. It is so difficult to swap out items that you don't want with items that you do want, even though the items that you want to replace them for are DEFINITELY cheaper than the items that you're taking off the plate. It's like this place doesn't care that you are on a specific diet or if you are allergic to certain items. They'd rather charge you the full amount of both the plate you ordered and items your replacing them with. When ordering from this place it's like talking to automated phone support. There should be more options to be able to get what you want but there just aren't. I mean seriously, it's not rocket science... It's freaking breakfast! I also don't get why it is so confusing to change from "to go" to "dine in". I mean I totally get it if you don't want me to sit in your lobby and give you a tip for my order, what I don't get is how difficult it is to just tell the staff to Simply put it on a plate instead of in a to-go box. I don't get why it is so difficult to enunciate so that it's easier to understand you. This is one of those chain restaurants that you'd go to expecting to get the same stuff you've always been able to order in the past... Today ladies and gentlemen, I was wrong in thinking that I would get that for instead I was given some strange run around that cause me to be damn near kicking and screaming like a little child while trying to get my order right! It's quite alright though, I decided to break my specific diet and eat all the pieces that my boyfriend isn't supposed to eat on the same specific diet just so he wouldn't have to deal with the upset and not getting the order that we put in... And seriously if we don't want salad dressing and all we want is maybe a little bit of olive oil but you don't have that as an option, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard because let's get real... I know you have some olive oil back there because you use it to cook...
