Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in San Jose

This was my second visit to Ike's, and much like the first time I walked away impressed with the quality of sandwich. When you walk in and look at the large menu hanging on the wall, you may be daunted by the large assortment of sandwiches and their corresponding names, so it may be worth your while to to check out a menu online to get an idea of what you want. The Matt Cain and Madison Bumgardner are the sandwiches ive personally tried and both hit it out of the park. #pitcherswhorake the taste is top notch and the availability of Dutch crunch as a bread option really brings it home in my opinion. Why 4 stars then? To me the sandwiches seem expensive. Expect to spend between 11 to 14 dollars for a sandwich and more if you want any of the sides offered (fries are delicious btw) and/or a drink. Also parking can be terrible as this location is in the center of the Plant. Lastly, the store closes the pretty early. I'm really disappointed that my meal wasn't prepared properly. I came in around 6:30pm on Saturday, December 15. The cashier recommended a sandwich that was off the menu ( The Mrs Robinson). As he was telling me what was in it, I mentioned that I cannot have ranch. He said it was possible to get the sandwich without it. I ordered 2 sandwiches and fried zucchini. The cashier asked what dip I wanted since I cannot have ranch, I said plain. When I got home, I took one bit and noticed that my sandwich was smothered in ranch. I had to take antihistamine to counter act the allergic reaction I'm having. I can't even go back and complain in person because they will be closed before I get there. The best characteristic of this place is the quality of their ingredients and many options that all serve to make a lasting impression on your tastebuds that will make you want to come back. But I give such a low rating because of the deceptive business tacttics employed by ikes. Regardless of your asking or not they place a 75 cent surcharge on ypur order to combat what they is rising wages and other state issues. Here's the kicker though you can opt put accorsing to small wording on a flier that is barely noticable.
