Jim Stump's Taproom + Kitchen — Restaurant in San Jose

We were really hungry as my husband and I were waiting to board our delayed flight at the airport. We decided we wanted to sit down to eat Jim Stumps Taproom And Kitchen. We were fine waiting for our food because we were not in a rush. We were sat down and 40 minutes later our food arrived. We did not have utensils. They brought me the wrong salad and when they served me the “Correct” salad it was soggy with too much dressing, brown avocado and it was missing the red onions and chicken that was supposed to be on there. Since the chicken was missing from my salad, I was served a side of chicken that looked like mashed up leftover chicken from possibly their old chicken sandwich and it did not look appetizing AT ALL! You would expect if you’re paying $25 for a salad it should be fresh. I do not like leaving negative reviews but I feel that my review will be helpful for someone else who is hungry to not waste their money or time eating here. Pricey food, but good - get the steak bavette for price. Service has been less than ideal every time, these people hate working here.

Last experience - no bar seats, Ok. Can I get a table with power outlet like right out front? I’m seated in the middle, with all the noise and no outlet - ask again - sent to high traffic area that servers use but has outlet - almost leave to trader Vic’s - instead, asked again, can I sit at the front area with outlet. This was done politely and with many thanks this entire time and good communication from my side. Seem to infuriate the hostess though

I waited 5 minutes at the host stand. 3 servers walked by me and ignored me. No eye contact, nothing. A line formed behind me. After quite sometime I went up to them while they were looking at photos on a phone and asked if I seat myself. She said, “I guess.” I sat down and no one brought me a menu. I went and grabbed my own menu and drink menu. Waited 10 min. No one came. I got up and left and they didn’t say a thing. I will also say that there were only 10-15 people in there with at least 4-5 staff socializing. Jim Stump please rescue this place or at least don’t put your name on it! I love and have been to all of your other locations. I ended up at Trader Vic’s and got great service with only 2 people...
