Read that a Celtic band performs here on Tuesdays! So we drove. The band is great! What a cool cultural, fun and unique attraction for a weeknight in downtown San Jose! As exciting as the band was, the service and food is proportionally awful. A girl with long purple hair and a short, brunette BOTH waited on the table providing embarrassingly poor service. Made the mistake of ordering a SPICY chicken sandwich. Boy, it has a kick. Problem is, Acid Reflux. Both dad and I missed this important note upon ordering it. Waitresses kept asking what we wanted drink. I wanted something but they offered no help, suggestions, even when prompted and I felt a bad vibe/total apathy from both. Sort of a bad attitude as if I was inconveniencing them. ALSO, IMPORTANT: not once was water offered, asked about with SPICY food. I had to get up and ask the bartender for water with “no ice”. He was chill about my request, but pointed to a SELF SERVICE option which had ice in it! Hello: Why is it self-service water if there is TABLE SERVICE? Clearly they didn’t expect a tip. So we didn’t! Something I don’t believe in. Also felt very uncomfortable during the whole experience. Poor dad had a visibly terrible reaction to the food and the waitresses could not have cared less. NO ONE CAME TO CHECK ON US after food was delivered. Sandwich reflected attitudes: no one cares.. slightly burnt. Leaving very sad. Will never go back and will warn my friends.

Your straight forward Irish pub, you go here to get wasted and taken advantage of from their price gouging. This was my 2nd time here last night and haven't been in SJ in a while. I noticed they had Suntory Yamasaki 12 year, typically priced anywhere from $25-$40 at the nicest place. I ordered two pours for my partner and I and the bartender didn't say what the price was, nothing, like ok that's normal. (This was my first drink and sober)

Later I noticed our tab was $140 for two pours and a beer, level headedly asked the bartender what they charge for it and tells me $60... I felt 100% taken advantage of as there is no reason for it to be priced that high. The bartender, was understanding and knew the pricing here is absurd and ridiculous, he got the manager to come over in which pulls me outside to talk and have a conversation with him and he laughs at me, and tells me that I shouldn't be ordering a Japanese whiskey at an Irish pub. The manager did not handle the scenario graciously whatsoever and had 0 customer service and does not care at all about his customers or their well being and only looking to take as much money as they can from you.

‼️‼️ I do not recommend going here and there are more than enough other places in the area you should check out that have better hospitality and appropriately priced spirits. ‼️‼️ I do not recommend Five Point either, same management and absurd pricing as well as I saw the manager walking behind the bar there as well.

-You're in the hospitality industry and there is ZERO hospitality at either place here or Five Point.

---Check out Paper Plane for a better experience, wider selection of spirit and appropriate...

I’m torn between a 4 and a 5. On the one hand they have good beer and cocktails. Irish mule was delicious, very strong on the ginger flavor. The North Coast Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout was out of this freaking world, one of my favorite beers ever. Also, they had live irish music! Super cool.

On the other hand I was somewhat unimpressed with the food. Their menu online is much smaller than pictures of the menu people have posted, but they don’t hand out menus, you only scan the QR codes on the tables which take you to their website. Their website doesn’t list any irish foods like the shepherds pie or the reuben sandwich. In fact their food menu is identical to the food menu of some other bars close by, so maybe they’ve cut the menu so they can share a kitchen. I had one bite of the brisket tacos and I personally found them to be rubbery and gross. Mac and cheese was pretty good- it was very stringy and cheesy but not creamy so keep that in mind if you prefer a creamier mac. I definitely scraped the bowl clean.

In conclusion I will still be definitely coming back here for drinks (seriously, get an irish mule!) and maybe I’ll try some fish & chips next time but I’m disheartened that their menu is...
