Serious Dumpling: They Mean Business
If you’re looking for dumplings that redefine expectations, Serious Dumpling is the place. Without exaggeration, these are the best dumplings I’ve had—hands down. Their flavors, textures, and attention to detail make for an unforgettable dining experience.
Sweet Ube dumpling– A Showstopper
It’s hard to surprise me, but the ube zlb completely blew me away. This dish is easily the best and most amazing thing I’ve eaten this year. The delicate dumpling skin encases a rich, slightly sweet yet perfectly balanced ube filling that melts in your mouth. It’s not just a dumpling—it’s an experience. If you visit, do not leave without trying this.
Savory Beef Pancake – Crispy and Satisfying. The beef pancake is everything you want in a savory pastry—flaky, crispy layers wrapped around tender, flavorful beef and fresh cucumber. The balance between the crunch of the pancake and the juicy beef makes it an absolute must-order.
Shrimp & Pork dumplings – Classic with a Twist
The shrimp & pork dumpling is another highlight. The combination of juicy pork with a perfectly cooked shrimp peeking out of the dumpling makes for a fantastic bite. The broth inside is rich and flavorful, exactly what you expect from great soup dumplings.
Cucumber Salad – Refreshing and Unique
The cucumber salad was a surprising and refreshing contrast to the dumplings. It had a light, tangy, and slightly garlicky dressing that balanced out the richness of the other dishes. Definitely a great side to cleanse the palate.
Service – Attentive and Friendly
The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everything was just right. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to provide recommendations made the experience even better.
Final Thoughts
Serious Dumpling truly lives up to its name. They take dumplings to another level with bold flavors and perfect execution. If you're even remotely into dumplings, this place is a must-visit. And again, do yourself a favor—get the ube ZLB. You...
Read moreA lackluster restaurant with rude and argumentative staff (specifically Anthony N). Our party of 6 was served over the course of an hour where two entrees were never delivered after four reminders, and it took 10 to 15 minutes just to get a printed receipt from a completely different waiter who checked in on us. When surprised by a questionabley high bill, the waiter read off our order but failed to mention an included 20% auto-gratuity. Upon inquiring about it after paying, considering the very lacking service, we were simply informed he'd told us (when he didn't) and "that's what auto-gratuity is." It would have been one thing if he was considerate of our concerns but instead he simply insisted he had done something he didn't. He was condescending and unwilling to understand why we didn't feel the 20% tip was deserved. An automatic gratuity may be in place to curb against large parties that try to skip out on a tip, but that automatic gratuity also comes with the expectation of wait staff providing the bare minimum of service -- which we did not receive here.
I had the garlic noodles which were rather basic but decent. I would highly recommend against the add-ons as they are not incorporated into the meal and are simply unseasoned ingredients. Adding shrimp, I expected a modest amount mixed in with the noodles - what I got was 5 singular, plainly boiled cocktail shrimp laid across the noodles.
Overall the food was alright, which is a disappointment because it isn't worth the hassle of hoping what you order will arrive, and that you won't leave your dining experience with a sour taste in your mouth from arguing with a...
Read moreNo wait at 630 on a Monday night with a concert going on at SAP. Street parking or pay at the garage. They don’t have any large tables but could push some together. They also have counter seating. Write your name and number on the paper by the door. They will call you when your table is ready if you aren’t waiting right there.
I would come here again. Had to ask for refill on water but they did come to check often. Sometimes they came to the table but didn’t take dirty dishes.
Cucumbers-didn’t have too much flavor. Crisp and refreshing but not marinated in the dressing long enough.
Garlic noodles- lots of flavor and slightly sweet
Giant xlb- too big and messy to eat. Asked for a spoon and they only had a teaspoon to offer. The soup spoons were being washed. Maybe we didn’t know how to eat it. But they didn’t tell us the right way or offer the spoon. They just gave a straw with it.
Salina meat ball- pork meatball with water chestnuts and sweet rice. I love shrimp balls like this at other places so I had to try it. I added some vinegar to it and ate the whole plate myself. It’s not the prettiest dish but I would order...
