What an amazing addition to Downtown San Jose. As an SJSU alum, I'm super bummed (or blessed, since I would've probably come here everyday if it were) that this place wasn't around while I was a student.
A couple of reasons why you're sure to love Sammy G's: There's parking available which is a huge plus for any spot in downtown. It's trendy, hip and fun. The decor is sleek and super nice. There are modern touches like the chalkboard menus and exposed ceilings. There are 4 huge TVs, making Sammy's perfect for game day. Right across from campus in a super convenient location Full bar...because, we all know you wanna turn up ;) Great vibe. It's got an open kitchen look/feel, but some fun little touches like this hook on the wall drinking game (which yours truly beat on the 3rd try ;) thank you very much) THE FOOD. Not only are there incredible and unique pizza creations (see my photo of the Buffalo Mac), but awesome menu items like Totchos, salads and buffalo wings. The service and staff. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We felt welcomed and taken care of.
I'll definitely be back! Looking forward to trying some of the other enticing items...
Read moreI paid Sammy G's nearly $4,000 for catering lunch service for our employees, about 300 people. For the weeks leading up, Sergio, the GM, was extremely communicative. I confirmed with him the day of the event that his team would arrive at 11am. 11am turned into 11:30, which is when the event was supposed to start. Meanwhile, Sergio would not take my calls or reply to my emails, and I received no update or explanation.
When the team arrived they offered no apology for being late (one team member and said they weren't supposed to get there until 11:30, while another claimed they got stuck in traffic - pick a lie and stick with it). They moved with zero urgency, even after being told that the lunch event was delayed.
To top off this disaster, the pizza was awful. It tasted like something you'd get at a school cafeteria. There was no salad dressing for the salad. About half of the pizzas went uneaten, and these people LOVE to eat.
I have not received any communication from Sergio. I too would like to pretend this never happened, but unfortunately I had to spend the rest of my day apologizing to 300 people. Extremely...
Read moreLove, Love LOVE the different interesting specialty pizzas. I did a delivery for Amazon one night and just reading the menu made me try it the next day. I love Mexican food and their take on a Mexican pizza (called "el ptesidente") was absolutely fantastic. Also, I ordered the refreshing and delicious Garden Salad and all i gotta say that ranch dressing they serve is to die for and it wasn't no ordinary salad when calamata olives and Feta cheese was added. For you sports fans, there are i believe 4 flatscreens (2 outside in their patio) to view the current games and a bar to quench your thirst. Overall a great feeling environment and I will be a repeat...
