Don Tako — Restaurant in San Juan

Had a bad experience today here there isn’t any type of order like stand hear to while waited to be seated. All employees are just walking by us finally talked to a employee to ask we’re we should stand to be seated he tells me 15 min or so but to give him a min to give me a answer. 5 min later tells me to give him a 30 min that they were short staff and that the kitchen need to catch up to the orders. So I ask were should I stand he said by the menu but let me ask the manager, the manager gets annoyed by him and tells him there busy. The 6 min the manager comes out tells me that due to COVID-19 that there at out side seating capacity when he said this was already 30 min gone by there were 2 table empty that people had left min before he said that there were at capacity and told me to come back in 30 to 45 min. I ask how do I know if if I leave and comes back that we will still have this problem he shrugged his shoulder and walk away. TRUST ME!!!! PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW. DO NOT GO TO DON TAKO. When we sat down, we ordered our drinks and they brought us chips and queso we did not ask for. I asked if it was free but the server looked at me for a moment, didn't answer my question, and then walked away. Um what??? The queso was inedible, just a block of cheese with grease on top. When the bill came, they charged us for it. We told them we did not ask for the queso and did not eat it and the server said they would talk to the manager about our issue. The server came back and said that the manager would not remove it from our bill. So, we didnt order it AND it was inedible AND we had to pay for it... Great. We visit San Juan regularly on cruises. We decided to give this restaurant a try. The food is ok, not terrific, but not bad. The service is AWFUL. Our waiter was terrible. They had a full bar, so I asked him if there was any drink "authentic" to Puerto Rico that he could suggest, and he looked at me like I was stupid and dismissed me. He said they have what's on the menu (which was margs). So we ordered margs and a round of 5 shots. We ordered an appetizer and meals. I had to flag him down to order the shots and again to order food. Not once did he stop to ask if we were doing ok or if we needed anything. No drink refill checks... nothing. I did hear him boasting inside the restaurant to his coworkers how he was the best server at their restaurant. Well, if he's the best, I would be horrified to see the worst!
