KOSAN (Condado) — Restaurant in San Juan

I was surprised. The tostones here were better than most of the restaurants I've tried here in PR. Most don't add garlic and olive oil. They did.

The drinks were also generous and well done. I have to say that Korean restaurant owners pay DEEP attention to detail on the cuisine and tastes of the people and culture of the country they do business in. It's was satisfying yet culturally disturbing that most of their dishes that they replicate from the people around them are done with a degree of precision that would put most 5 Stat restaurants that serve similar meals for shame.

Ordered the teriyaki salmon, the broccoli was hard and the salmon was crunchy, the pork in my Singapore style noodles was hard as well I feel like it could’ve been cooked better but the sushi pizza was good. The service was terrible; our waiter didn’t pay much attention to us after we got our food and had to have another employee get us the check. We also watched one of the employees ignore a couple while they were waiting for someone to seat them. Honestly, the woman who got us the check was probably the most respectful employee there. I hate to review a place on its service because I do understand that people have bad days and places can be understaffed but it wasn’t busy so there shouldn’t be an excuse for...

The Chinese food here was really delicious! My family and I were craving Asian food after going on a Caribbean cruise for a week and this place hit the spot. I would recommend ordering the Chinese food on the menu as that seems to be their specialty. It seems the poor reviews come from the Japanese items. Their roasted duck, eggplant, and chow fun were all very delicious!! The duck was crispy, and the eggplant was saucy and glossy. Chow fun noodles were a bouncy texture with the right amount of sauce.
