Took a trip to Puerto Rico to visit this restaurant that a few of my associates &business partners are in between thoughts saying it's okay and others saying it is horrible And they always keep the BATHROOM nasty. I thought it was strange that Not one of them said it was great no one said it was a five star and therefore I went to check it out with my girls. Do I normally travel the world for restaurants no. But because this wasn't so far I had nothing to do for a whole weekend I decided let me go to the beach and stop here for a bite, so I did. Was it a disappointment? The food wasn't so bad it wasn't so good either. I ordered the French toast as you see in the picture with all the kiwi the cheese the eggs and the extra stuff the bacon was hard and not very tasteful. It was disappointing to experience this. The French toast was big in size but it lacked the nutmeg and the cinnamon. It was not heavily dressed in flavor nor did it have the taste of cinnamon and sugar. Now if this is the common way it's made and people give the reviews that its awesome then I'm going to introduce everybody to a place where you'll change your mind once you try a location called "Pinky" which is also located not far away. Follow me to check out my review on Pinky restaurant. So moving on my girlfriend ordered an omelet and avocados and she said the omelet was very dry and the meat was hard food was like warm. It was so dry that you can see the dryness in the picture. Should an omelette be cooked to the point that it is so dry it looks like paper towels? I don't think so nonetheless she was happy with the avocado. No the omelet should not be running either but surely it should not be so dry that it loses it's fluffiness and taste.. We both ordered the hot cereal which had a great flavor but I think they were short on the amount because we only got I would say less than half a bowl? When we place our spoons into get a spoonful we saw immediately the bottom of the bowl. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous and they charged us the absorbent price of a full bowl. Yes complaints was made and this tall guy who secretly given his name as Juan Carlos did nothing to correct the problem. It's okay he or the establishment may comment today or next week and say sorry we don't usually do this... you know how it goes guys The business spokesperson comments on the post because it wasn't to their liking and state that they are going to make it up to you or it's not their norm? Yada Yada, Well if anyone does decide to comment back from the establishment don't worry about it you lost me as a customer. The correction should have been made and it wasn't on top of that they had the audacity to charge extra for milk used in coffee. Now there's nothing wrong with it providing that you stated somewhere on your menu or somewhere in your establishment. It's not a GIVEN AS this is a tourist area no one knows that automatically unless they work there. So I was charged and my girlfriend was charged for coffee just because we asked for milk absolutely ridiculous but nonetheless moving right along "When one door closes another one opens" and that's how we discovered pinky. It's all about customer service guys! would it have hurt the establishment to give this customer and her friend who's never been to your place ever before a little common courtesy? When the customer complains check it out see how you can make things better for them but Juan Carlos didn't give great customer service. His attitude was non-caring and truthfully if he is a manager as he's manager I Would look into retraining him to be much more concerned about customer service . But to each his own and as I always say go check it out and decide for yourself. But by the time you go they probably saw this review and maybe they would clean up their act. I myself will not be returning I fell in love with the restaurant approximately five blocks down. Check my review on it you guys r going to absolutely love it. I'm sorry if anyone does t like honesty but that's the only way I vibe. I truly...
Read moreExpect a line when you get there. Not too long but the heat makes it feel longer. You can download the menu using a qr code while you wait. When we finally got in we were seated but it looked like they only had two waitresses so we knew it would be kinda slow. They have a front entrance (where the line is) and a back entrance where u can park. A couple came in the back and our waitress greeted them and allowed them to sit at the table next to us. This is after another gentleman told them they had to go to the front. This definitely didn't sit well since I had to wait 20mins. 2 other couples can in the back after that and the waitress had them go to the front which was really not fair. She finally comes to take our order and she was at least nice. I ordered pancakes, sausage, bacon, scrambled cheese eggs. Wife ordered French toast with whipped cream and strawberries, scrambled cheese eggs and bacon. The food came out pretty fast from when we ordered it. FRESHLY SQUEEZED ORANGE JUICE! it was like heaven in a ice cold glass! Hands down the best OJ I've had in my life! On to the food, the pancakes were thick and didn't have any real flavor to them. They were pretty bland. The sausage and bacon were great! Cooked perfectly and had great flavors. The eggs were harder than I like and after some salt n pepper they were ok. The French toast was the same as the pancakes, nothing fancy. Not bad but not really good either. The atmosphere was good, nothing special but not bad other than the seating incident. The price was higher than I've seen since I landed. $66 for two people. I don't mind paying more when the food and atmosphere is worth it but this place just didn't...
Read moreOur hotel suggested eating here. We were immediately sat down, which was nice given that most places in Condado had a wait. However, there were some differences in our service in comparison with other people.
We weren’t given menus, and were told to scan the QR codes located on the table. Their menu is lengthy so having a physical menu you would have helped with selections. Everyone else around us had menus in hand. We asked for waters around the table and were brought back bottled waters, which we did not ask for. Everyone around us was given tap water (free). If it’s common to give tourists water, ask before assuming. When we asked to split our check, instead of providing the check when asked, our waitress waited on everyone around us, instead of bringing us our checks. When she finally came back with the assumed split checks, we were given one check, and told to go to the register to pay. Everyone around us stayed seated and the waitress took care of their form of payments.
Needless to say, the food was mid. Presentation was nice, but the food was just okay. We got the grilled cheese, French Mess sandwich, Ashford Special, and the Pannes Special sandwich (our fav). My coconut matcha was delicious. If you’re from the states, it’s a modern day Denny’s/Ihop with a PR twist. Sadly, as we experienced elsewhere in Condado, discrimination is subtle in the beginning, but loud as the experience goes on. It truly ruined some of our experiences...
