I rarely like to leave bad reviews but La Verguenza has taken first place for the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I visited the restaurant for dinner on July 5th with a party of four, and we sat on the rooftop area. Upon requesting to order, we were informed the majority of the menu items were missing. We ordered alcoholic beverages and cokes- the drink order came incorrect and the cokes were stale. Next, one of the party members ordered a pina colada- we were told the blender was broken, as throughout the night other waitresses/waiters were bringing pina coladas to other tables. We were very confused. With that being said, the food was received. Aside from the food being horrible, the chimchurri steak came out without any chimichurri sauce. After following up with the waitress 2-3 times, and even having to go to her to the bar numerous times (as she talked and danced with coworkers) she casually let us know “yeah there’s no more chimichurri, sorry”, and proceeded to walk away. As if that was not bad enough, we did not receive the side of rice that was ordered. We informed the waitress and she let us know that she sent the rice to another table. She then proceeded to pick up the rice from the table over that was sitting, with a fork mark in it from the guests sitting beside us, and let us know “they didn’t touch it, would you want it?” We politely declined, and asked to have a fresh dish of rice. She left and came back with the same rice preheated, as there were the same previous fork marks in it. We were extremely upset. With all of the events that unfolded, and the attitude of the waitress (we did not get her name, but she had two braids the night we came)- we decided to pay the bill in cash and not tip the waitress 20%. This is not customary of our group but the service was severely lacking. As we departed- the waitress ran to us, and let us know that 18% is customary after the bill reaches $100. We knew this was completely false considering it wasn’t posted anywhere and a tip is not mandatory. We got her manager in which barely helped the situation and said he would “handle the waitress”. Overall, this place was beyond disappointing- the service, the food and management. Steer clear if you’re looking for a good dinner...

My fiancé and I were excited to try this restaurant, because the first time we were in PR we weren’t able to try it. When we got there I should’ve see the red flags; the host there was a gentleman too busy on TikTok watching a girl twerk while my fiancé and I were waiting to get seated. While standing in front of the gentleman, I got his attention by purposely saying to my fiancé, “Oh lets try this restaurant,” and that’s when he looked up to greet us. We asked if there a table for 2, and he responds to us rudely, “I’m down here so how would I know, you have to go up there and see for yourself.” Letting that slide, we proceeded upstairs.
When we got upstairs, we walked past 2 servers who were clearly alerted by our presence (because eye contact was made and we walked in front of them to an empty table). We waited roughly 15-20 minutes until I approached a server. She looked annoyed when I asked her how do we order food. She then asked me where I was sitting (to which I showed her) and said she would be with us in a few. We waited another 5-10 minutes until she finally came. We placed our food order already extremely famished. We waited an entire hour for our food to never come. The same server who took our order looked at us multiple times, never once asking if we got our food or not. My fiancé and I decided to walk out (our first time walking out of a restaurant). We had the decency to pay for the water bottles they provided us, which I regret doing because of the horrible service we received.
I work in the hospitality field so I’m patient and understanding because I understand how busy it can get and how difficult customers can be. However, this was the worst service I’ve ever received. The worst part was that clear friends of the restaurant staff (who walked in 10 mins after we did) immediately received their drinks, appetizers, entrees, and a to go box in a seamless speed. They made constant eye contact with us, possibly also questioning why we were just sitting there like idiots. Clear favoritism was shown and a lack of care to other customers. I hope this review finds others eyes, because this place does not deserve the recognition it has. This place is...
