Pa’l Pita — Restaurant in San Juan

UPDATE: I tried visiting again several times, had the falafel loaded fries and it was good! Nice portion and flavor. One of these times the falafel had an odd, moldy flavor and the lettuce was musty. But overall, most of the times the falafel was tasty, the fries were recently made, and the salad was fresh.

Their service improved and they have actually answered the phone to take orders around 75% of the times I've called.

Previous review: Called too many times to make my order and they did not answer the phone, so I had no choice but to head over there to make the order. Employees were kind and were doing their best, to my understanding. Ordered a falafel sandwich. On the menu, they stated "Add fries for +$1.00". Since I love my falafel sandwiches with fries on the side, I went ahead and ordered it this way. When the order came out, no fries to be seen. I asked for my fries and was told that they were inside the sandwich.

"Inside? Ummm, that strange." - I thought to myself. There were no specifications to have the fries put inside the sandwich when making my order but I was very hungry so decided to leave and have my food instead. When I took the first bite, no fries to be found so I went ahead and opened the sandwich to find out there were FIVE FRENCH FRIES. FIVE FRENCH FRIES for $1?!? These are, by far, the most expensive french fries I've had in my life and they were the cheapest you can find at a fast food restaurant. Also, the sandwich had good flavor but was very dry (almost no hummus or tahini).

So sad. Owner/Manager, please take a look at your menu and consider changing this. It's absurd to pay $1 for FIVE FRENCH FRIES and to have to eat your sandwich with so much water to avoid choking because of how dry this...

I’ve eaten there a couple of times the food is great but today had a bad experience asked for my pita bread to be served separate and they put it all together on my bowl went there to pick my order up and the cashier looked at my order and told the cook it’s supposed to be separate what do I do and she grabbed the pita with no gloves on and put it in a bag literally in front of me and I’m shocked cuz how you gonna touch my food with your dirty hands so I took it anyway and went back and asked her to change it cuz it had hummus all over it and she just grabbed it with an attitude and threw it in the trash didn’t say sorry or anything food is great customer service terrible walked away and saw them looking at me like I did something wrong I suggest the owner or manager take a look into those employees who are not...

I'm obsessed with falafel and I'm so happy I found a spot that makes them! There aren't a lot of Mediterranean food places in Puerto Rico so I appreciate that they offer this menu at an accessible location and price! 10$ for a very stuffed chicken falafel. My friend got the steak for only 12$, a great deal!
