I live in the neighborhood of this restaurant less then 5 mins away and have been coming here since they opened. I have ordered many times for dinner and many times for lunch and they have always been great. During Covid-19 they have taken necessary precautions for the communities health which I can appreciate, but what I can't appreciate is them using Covid-19 as a means to benefit them. When you call in to order they force you to give your credit or debit card information over the phone to complete your order, so whether your food is great or not.. you have already paid. I have gone along with it, because hey its Covid-19 BUT what i've never been told once on the phone is "because of Covid-19 we will not do any refunds" That would be nice to know if I am giving you my money before even seeing the food. As I said before usually the food has been great, however I ordered Chicken Karage yesterday for lunch and it was the first time I have experience Gray Fried Chicken. I went home called and said "hello, my Chicken Karage is Gray and I am sending my mother down to return it for another batch," I was immediately met with resistance from the order taker and he said it was not grey and he didn't know what I was talking about. Long story short I went back and there myself personally and ended up in a large argument because I demanded a refund, however they would not give it back to me for their gray fried chicken. The order taker took the extra step to go behind a divider that was not see through and grabbed a hidden sign saying "we don't take refunds do to covid-19." They hide the sign so customers can't see it, and they argue with customers if they are not happy with the food and say its your problem not ours. In closing I think its important for this restaurant to realize how many small businesses have closed down because they didn't get the support needed or better yet could not have with the type of business they have. This business seems to think that we need them more then they need us and they don't appreciate their customers business, you can tell over the phone how they force you to give your money before even seeing the product and don't mention they don't do refunds. I will NEVER be going back to this restaurant and really could care less about them as a business because I was so offended how I was treated. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
If you skip to the end, don't get the Chicken Karage, it is grey and soggy and that's just how they make it. And by the way after about 10-15 mins of arguing a man came from inside the restaurant and spoke to the order taker I was arguing with in another language and told him to give me my refund. So they can give refunds, they just choose not to and also choose not to take accountability...
Read moreI would leave 0 stars but the app won’t allow me to. Today I invited my guests to eat out at this place and I’m highly embarrassed and disappointed by the manager of this establishment. One of my guests has many dietary restrictions and always brings her own food when dining out to ensure she can eat something safe (in case there isn’t something on the menu she can’t eat). After arriving she asked if it would be okay to use a bowl . The server kindly informed that they typically don’t allow outside food but he brought out the bowl. We thought that was the end of it and continued to order our food. A few moments later we noticed we were receiving angry stares from the other employees who later approached our server and asked him to remove my sister’s plate WITH HER FOOD ALREADY ON IT! Shocked we packed up and prepared to leave but calmly asked to speak to the manager on the way out . I WAS an avid patron of this establishment and I’m very outraged and disappointed by the horrible customer service by the manager. His condescending and dismissive attitude made the whole situation worse than it should have been. He was incredibly nonchalant and made no effort to remedy the situation but Instead sided with his employees . Read moreAte here for dinner, for my 1st visit here. It's kind of a "funky-hole in the wall" place but the food and service was excellent. Terri was my waitress and was (seemingly) everywhere; to filling my water glass and giving me ice, along with making sure my order was OK. Very impressed w/her and left a 20% tip.
I had the chicken terryaki dinner (w/soup and rice - supposed to be w/salad too but I did not mark off for not getting it. I was full after the terryaki, it was a huge serving (really for two), brought over in a hot-plate. I also had maguro/ahi-tuna nigiri, two pieces of fish on rice (which also was excellent tasting) but the ahi was sliced a bit thinner than most nigiri but at $5 for 2-pc. nigiri, this is reasonable. I was also jones-ing for soft-shell crab and got the Spider-roll, which was also excellent. They also sell the soft-shell crab as an appetizer.
