Me and fiance decided to go to Chili's for a nice meal during quarantine. Ordered online, and was told it was going to be ready at 8:03. Our order was fairly simple, 1 Medium rare classic Ribeye, with loaded mash with no cheese, and awesome blossom petals. Fiance ordered a bowl of chili, and a Ceasar salad with croutons on the side. We checked in when we parked at 7:50. Figuring our food would be ready at the time expected, and brought out to us. When we ordered they ask you for info regarding the vehicle you're driving, the make, model, and color, as well as a name for the order. At 8:12 they finally came and asked for the name of the order which we gave them. They left to go check for it. 10 minutes passed, 8:22, and we had another person come check and ask for the name of the order. Once again told them the name on the order. Waited again for them to go get/check on our order. Nothing again for another 10 more minutes (8:33) and finally the first person that checked on us came out and went to ask for the name on the order and recognized that we had been there already. We gave him the name on the order and asked if maybe it could have got put under the name on the credit card, and not the order name. They said they had issues with that happening before earlier today. So we gave them the name on the credit card. He asked for us to repeat our whole order so that he could have it remade, since it had already been 30 minutes that our food had been ready. Our food was finally brought out to us at 8:48, so another 15 minutes had passed waiting on our food to arrive. We were asked to check the food to make sure that it was right. My loaded mashed potatoes had cheese on them, so he took that and had it remade while I started cutting into the steak to check whether it was medium rare or not. He said he already had to remake my fiance's salad cause they had originally put croutons on it. When he got back with my fixed loaded mashed potatoes he asked if there was anything else that was wrong with it. I told him we weren't worried about getting anything else fixed because we already had 45 minutes of our time wasted, but that the steak was overcooked, and the chili was cold, even after being remade. Almost like they took the chili from the first order before they remade it and just put it in our remade order. We finally left at 8:53, a whole 50 minutes of waiting after our order was allegedly going to be ready. We finally got back to our place, the steak was overcooked to about a medium or well done, and my fiance's chili was burnt to the point he couldn't eat any of it. Not worth either of our times...
Read moreI don't usually give any restaurants a five-star rating, and for a long time I never like to go to Chili's because I had a bad experience about 20 years ago, with this same restaurant. On December 23rd 2020 My wife and I came into this restaurant. We drove around not knowing where to go eat, we didn't want to drive far from our home, and we decided to eat here. Again I was not expecting how good we were treated up on walking in, the staff came and sat us down immediately. There were probably 35 to 50 patrons in the restaurant. I'm not sure if their staff was limited. However we got service as if we were kings and queens, and I speak about every patron there. One of the best experiences ever! I ordered the Trio, and my wife ordered the quesadilla salad, of course adult beverages for us. They were prompt and our wait time wasn't what I expected this was one of the reasons I did not go to Chili's. My last experience took about an hour and a half before they brought my order. I mentioned nothing to them about my last experience, our order came, and as we sat and ate, our service person would check on us and ask if we needed anything. (which is keen inside any restaurant) Up on leaving they asked again if we needed anything, and I told them I had a great time especially since my birthday was just around the corner on Christmas Day. They came and all the staff sang Happy Birthday to me. I loved it. Please understand it wasn't the happy birthday that got me, it was the attitude and the atmosphere that bought me I will continue coming to this restaurant. I recommend Chili's in San Marcos Texas to anyone that wants to come in dine-in to have an experience as we did. Five ⭐...
Read moreOn our way back from Austin, we decided that we should stop and do a family meal because I like I've been so busy lately that we have done so in quite a few months. As we narrow it down, we decided on Chili's because we haven't been disappointed in any visit to any chili ever. We walked in the door, and they were looking at us sideways. I don't want to pull the race card because no one said anything, but we couldn't help but feel the eyes staring at us like what are you doing here hahaha. It was weird and hilarious at the same time. That was actually beside the point of why we left. It smelled as if someone used a dirty mop to clean from the ceiling to the floor. It was unbearable. However, we were determined to get a good meal from Chili's. The waitress set us at a dirty table. Our daughter clearly needed a highchair, but instead of at least offering, we had to ask. Normally when you have kids, they give you the crayons and activity papers... Do you think we got that? After bringing back the high chair, they didn't ask us what we wanted to drink. Which would have been okay if we didn't sit there for another five minutes before someone came back. By the way, that person didn't come back hahaha! After sitting there for 5 minutes, we noticed that multiple waitresses were on duty... Three of which were just standing there talking and looking in our Direction. At that point, we decided that the Universe was telling us this was a very bad decision. So, we went around the corner to the McDonald's and purchased two large sodas for $1 each and then pulled out our snacks and hit the road back to San Antonio laughing about this horrible...
