it was already 830pm on a Sunday and we we needed to satisfy this relentless MFing fury of a craving for burgers. All the burger joints were closing at 9. What to do? Look for options outside ATX.

Yelp found us this joint in San Marcos and so glad we went. We got there a little after 9 and the place was busy as it could be. We placed our order of single burgers (they have double and triples) and they came out pretty quick.

Our burgers couldn't be any better. We were craving old school, simple burgers and Fat Burgers got em. When I say they were perfect, I mean the fresh patties came with a crust on each side, well seasoned with salt and pepper, squeezed in between two brioche buns, lettuce, tomato, mustard and pickles. How is that not perfection?

We also ordered some onion rings. The rings themselves seemed they were dipped into a beer better as it was super light. Whatever their dipping sauce, it was super good: creamy, ranchy and spicy.

As we were finishing our meal, we decided to get some churros. Instead of getting up, we just ordered online and by the time we finished eating, VOILA, our churros were ready. We asked for them dusted with powder sugar and a chocolate dipping sauce.

Yeah NOT impressed what so ever. We get there and not very much space, no available tables. We get to the register, the girl looked confused, I order my daughters food, my food; my son wanted a xxl fatburger, they were out of larger patties, so I ordered the original but modified to his liking, my husband tried to order a BBQ burger, they were out of onion rings.. the person beside us wanted a shake but they were out of ice cream.. $60 later we get our cups and go to get drinks, they said they were out of lids but brought some out a few minutes later. We wait for our food and it comes out, they forget my sons burger. They go get it and it came back wrong. My burger was wrong, my husband's burger was wrong, they forgot my daughters ranch for her wings.. the burger patties were dry and not seasoned at all. They were apparently out of ketchup too.... needless to say we will NOT be going back.. they were NOT ready to open...

I went in for the 1st time and ordered a double meat w/cheese And fries, no cup drink because ice cube was broken so I bought a regular coke. It took about 10 mins, but got home split it with my hubby and I'll yell you this was the best hamburger and fries I've had in a long time. Use to live in Austin and bought my burgers at Short Stop or Dan's they have the best and Sandy's. So if you take a trip over there stop in one of these. But this place Fwt is the best here by far. The only thing is the buns are small I paid almost 20.00 dollars for 3 items. But I guess we'll worth it. I love hamburgers and this place will be it. That you Fat, I will RETURN and I did but bought me a single meat. It was tasty but not as good as the double meat was. Next time onion rings. I live...
