My brother came from out of town for Thanksgiving that Saturday we went to showdown because we brag about the bloody Mary's from there. Well there was a total of 6 of us and we all ordered bloody Mary's( not all at once) but they were the worst ! All Tomatoe juice no other flavor. The music was super low and I put 15$ worth of music and was like hmmm I wonder if it's on.. so I asked and his reply was it's on . And he walked away it was at about a 3 you could bearly make out the words. Then one of my brothers went up and asked If they had a change machine and he rudely told him no man you have been here before and started chatting it up with the guy at the bar . We were up playing darts just minding our own business enjoying our own company. My other brother from OUT OF TOWN didn't like the tasteless bloody Mary's so he ordered 2 pitchers and gave my brother only 4 glasses (clearly seeing there was 6 of us) so my brother went back and asked for 2 more Glasses the bartender just looked at him and continued to chat it up with someone so my brother asked again and he yelled at my brother saying I heard you the first time ! Mind you it was only us 6 and about 4 other people so my brother got upset and told him we acknowledge me then the guy was super slow about the 2 Glasses so we finished the pitchers closed our tab and each couple gave him 0 tip for his rude and ugly service. As we were leaving i told him he was not getting a tip from anyone because of his attitude he had a chip on his shoulder from the moment we walked in. Now I have been there before and the bar staff has always been good I even had a friend who worked there but this guy with beard and glasses was a total ugly person. Don't know what his problem was but he ruined showdown for us.

Read moream new in town and my girl and I stopped by the bar too check it out and it was the best possible experience I could have had. First thing they did was check ID's which I respect a lot. The bar manager immediately seated my girl and I and was so genuine and engaging. We are 21 so we are young and pretty new to the bar experience. The bar is definitely full of older individuals but that didn't stop them from welcoming us with kind regards. While talking too the bar manager and the bartender, I told them I wanted to expand my taste pallet and enjoy the flavor of the drinks, I didn't want to get hammered and act a fool. I told them my favorite types of alcohol and they suggested multiple drinks for me too try. I also asked for a glass of water in between drinks so I could stay hydrated. The staff told me that's a good choice and I I tried out multiple drinks that night. I requested the 1829 made with Tullamore Dew (which I was so happy they had) and they had never made it, however, they improvised to make it for me and it was absolutely fantastic. By the end of the night I told them I was only going to have another drink and the bar manager said it was a good idea to stop after that one. We talked a lot and the staff said that safety of customers is their top priority and that they will watch out for red flag signs while people are drinking and that they will do their best too make sure they get home safe.
If you are looking too be part of a family and have a genuine bar experience this is the place. If you're one of the college kids going out trying to get hammered, I wouldn't recommend this bar for you. This is a place you go to respect the drink and the flavor, this isn't a club or dance hall. 10/10 will always...
Read moreFirst, it's an old bar in an old building, the walls are discolored and the furniture came from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The place is full of wonderful character and history.
The staff are super friendly and helpful the customers are old locals and regulars, veterans and blue collar folks who enjoy a laugh and a beer. The bar is hanging with the tankards of regulars since time immemorable and the jukebox is loud.
The kitchen, a newer addition, is small and a little slow but the food is top notch. Excellent pub items like tacos and burgers that are fresh and hot. I love the spicy Border War burger or the amazing breakfast tacos. Top it all off with a cold beer or genuinely the best Bloody Mary I've ever had and go home happy.
I love Showdown, it's been around since before I was born. It and it's patrons have been a part of my life in a good way since I was little. If recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good drink and burger and...
