Today I was overcharged. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. The server had to make the chicken salad by mixing chicken with mayonnaise. I told her, that's OK, no need to mix in the mayo, just plain chicken is fine. So she made the chicken salad sandwich without the added mayo. After I paid for the sandwich, which is normally $8-$9, I noticed that I had been charged $11.57 for a Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken sandwich. I asked why had this happened, and was told that leaving out the mayo increased the price, because apparently, leaving out the mayo increased the amount of chicken in the sandwich (the amount in a Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken, apparently). But I had done the same previously in the same store and been charged only for a chicken salad sandwich. She said, sorry, you have to pay more. Why wasn't I told I was being charged for a different, more expensive sandwich, before I paid? She simply said, sorry, that's our policy. I asked who I could complain to, and was told to call the phone number printed on the door. I called the number within 30 minutes after I left the store and left a message. The person in management who called me back repeated the server's story, and on top of that accused me of stealing a basket from the store when I walked out of the store! I told her I didn't take a basket, was never given one because it was a to-go order, and I'm not a thief. The only thing I did walking out was note the telephone number of management on the door, as I had been directed by the server, so I could make the call to complain. But, apparently, the server called management herself before I could make the call to complain, and knowing I was unhappy at being overcharged, falsely accused me of stealing! The management person claimed she had a videotape of me walking out with the basket -- completely false, I'm not that person on the tape, it's someone else. I offered to come to the store to show that I am not the person on the videotape, but the management person refused to meet with me. I tried to raise the issue of the server's honesty, but the management person was unsympathetic, maintaining that the employee server had done the right thing. Incredible! Not only was I overcharged, but Subway falsely accused me of taking a sandwich basket from the store! Simply incredible, what a nasty experience. I was made to feel humiliated for informing them I had...
Read moreWhen you’re out of one of the most basic sandwich ingredients, it would be a good practice to let the person buying that sandwich know that you are out of X ingredients. In this instance, tomatoes. For some people, tomatoes, pickles, or mayonnaise and mustard are what make a sandwich, a sandwich, and not meat stuck between two dry pieces of bread. This subway wasn’t out of tomatoes, however, it’s just that it would have been far too much work and would have required waaaaaaay too much effort for one of the two employees that were working to step in the back and cut 4 tomato slices to add to a $14 sandwich. Imagine getting the end of the line and the end of the sandwich making and Subway saying “sorry we’re out of pickles…” One might expect some sort of discount or some sort of concession for the missing basic and staple sandwich ingredient, especially if the customer is saying that they don’t really want the sandwich anymore without X ingredient. Whatever Manager or owner there is, it might be a good idea to have a conversation with the 2 employees who closed on Tuesday June 19th, and explain to them What a 1 star google review does to the...
Read moreusually they're really good, but this morning a dude helped me who seemed to be hung over or high, I couldn't tell which one. when I walked in he was wearing gloves, touching cookie dough. he didn't change his gloves when he grabbed the bread for my sandwich. he began making my sandwich but the bread had pieces of meat in it already, he seemed to try to hide it until I said "hey, what's in the bread?" he then threw it away and grabbed a new piece. he put like 10 pieces of turkey on my sandwich, then tried to put pepperoni on the sandwich when I asked for salami- I had to correct him. he went to the back to grab the toaster trays, then when he put my sandwich in the toaster; he was touching counters, his hat, and other trays- all without changing his gloves. he packed it up to-go without asking me "for here or to-go?" overall a really weird experience. it was $12 total, and I was hungry, so I'm going to eat it. but I'm a little nervous about getting food poisoning...
