CAVEAT EMPTOR (LET THE BUYER BEWARE): I’d give it a minus star if I could. I’m 75 years old and this has been the worst experience in furniture buying of my entire life. And I bought a lot of furniture in my life. These people’s operation is unethical and their products appear to be knockoffs of the real thing. I bought a recliner leather chair there, which they call OSLO. The chair was presumably on sale for $1299. They said the sale was tax-free, and they would include gratis the $400 footstool that should have actually been part of the set at no additional cost in any case. We picked up the chair ourselves on the day before Thanksgiving and once we got home, we discovered that the knob/lever that they insisted was to lock in position the recliner didn’t do anything. It was obviously just there for decoration. And not only that but it was cheaply made and the cover button on the lever kept falling off. We called the salesman immediately on his cell phone and he told us that he would be in the store on Friday and that he would show us how it worked. It didn’t work on the floor model in the store either. We returned the chair on Friday (since on Thursday the store was closed for Thanksgiving), deciding that it was defective and not worth the price. At first, they refused to take the chair back, saying that we could not return the chair “because it was used”. “Used” from the day before when we picked it up? They then told us that in the back of the receipt there was a note that if we returned the chair for any reason that there would be a 30% restock charge. 30%! This extremely important fact was not disclosed at the time of purchase, which is illegal— not to mention that 30% is usurious amount, which is unheard of in any reputable furniture store in the Bay Area. Moreover this chair was defective and had I chosen to prolong my pain of this entire ordeal, I would’ve sued them in small claims court. Instead, I decided to take the loss of 30% of the price with the promise that I would write this review to warn others. After this ordeal, we went to Scandinavian Design up the street. We found a better recliner leather chair and stool set on sale for a total of $950– practically the cost of what was returned to me after ANA charged me 30% restock charge. Again, PLEASE BE WARNED AND BE CAREFUL ABOUT...
Read moreIt was very scary I was terrified for my life I called ahead of time to ask very little questions and spoke to what I thought was a very friendly nice lady she said that she would help me and I could ask for her when I arrived to the store and I show up the store was completely empty and the second I spotted 2 works the man started running up to me like a crazy person and I was trying to avoid him and get to the person that I had previously spoken 2 and it was like 2 people attacking me at once and I was forced to follow this man aimlessly around the store and he wouldn’t let me speak at all and As I was trying to leave this madness him and the lady were attacking me with words all at one time it was very unsettling and traumatizing I don’t recommend anyone going there at all I felt like if I tried to leave he would forcefully lock the doors I couldn’t even leave with out this person chasing behind me to the...
Read moreBad service. All the sales were trying to hassle your money out. No more.
I bought a bed from here one year ago, and couldn't believe the experience still left me bad emotion (I kept the receipt and know who served me at that time in 2018). I have to tell the prospects what I experienced: The sales didn't tell me 7 day free return You need to go to Hayward to pick it up. Delivery is 70 dollar something. This money on me: I have nothing to say.
I didn't live many years in America, but I should say this one is the worst experience. Even one year later, I still want to type the above in an objective thinking. Not sure the sales are still working there or the boss/management has some problem using the...
