I have been picking up dinner for my mom and dad here (age 89 and 93) for almost 10 years now. They like Slopes, but I have only so many options to rotate through to keep us from getting tired of any one place. Slopes on Sandy Springs Cir is only one block from my house. I have spent thousands there. They often overcharge me. Their specials are not specific and they will tell you why you did not qualify, when the bill comes, though the stipulations were not mentioned on the menu. They have no customer loyalty. Tonight, Jim overcharged me for a full rack of ribs, rather than the 1/2, I asked for. He was only willing to throw in some Brunswick stew, which I had never indicated any desire for, and did not come close to making up for the overcharge. I told Jim that I would pay (already processed on my credit card with $5 tip) for the undesired full rack, if he would throw in the Brunswick stew. He sent me out the door empty handed and said I was a troublemaker. Funny, I'm 55, and they are the first to accuse me of...
Read moreThis place has the look and feel of a southern BBQ joint from the 80’s and that makes sense since the owners have been smoking meats for over 30 years. Nothing fussy but well laid out. It’s counter service which gives you a chance to get first hand recommendations from the owner Glenn and he made some great ones. My favorites were the 1/4 Dark smoked chicken (A perfect level of smoke and moisture) the pork ribs (great Smokey flavor with more of a smoke bracelet than just a ring and the bones pull right out while still leaving a great chew to the meat which can elude many supposed BBQ joints) the real highlight though was Collards which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. If you are North of Atlanta and looking for comfortable food in a family establishment don’t cheat yourself, come and...
Read moreWhat a disappointment for 4th of July. We are used to the delicious Slopes BBQ and service. Frankly, they were way to busy filling catering orders and the BBQ was almost without flavor. Clear, they had boiled and lightly smoked the meat as they had big orders to fil. Furthermore, the poor attitabout the obviously burnt cornbread was also disappointing. They claimed it was busy with catering and the cornbread all. Ame from the same batch. We were offered more burnt cornbread and then chewy garlic bread that as also not on par. The fried oak wasn't hot and my 86year old Mother in law did Not finish that sad BBQ sandwich because she said that even with sauce, it was tasteless. I tasted it so I know that to be true. Get it together or continue to loose old and valuable customers!!!!...
