Last night, my friends and I decided to have dinner at Mister O1 in Sandy Springs. It was a lovely evening, so we brought our dog and planned to sit outside on the patio. Unfortunately, our experience from the very start was disappointing and frustrating.
When we arrived around 8:00 PM, I approached the host and politely asked if there was a table available on the patio since we had our dog with us. She simply looked at me without saying a word. I asked three times before she finally responded that there were no patio tables available but that she had one inside. I repeated that we needed a table outside because of the dog again, no response. Her attitude was curt and dismissive.
I then asked if we could be added to the waitlist for a patio table. She looked at me as if it was a ridiculous request, then reluctantly added our name. When I asked for an estimated wait time, she said “I don’t know,” and continued being short and unhelpful. We decided to wait outside, not knowing whether it would be 30 minutes or an hour.
At 8:37 PM, I received a text that our table was ready. Since our dog needed a quick walk, we took a short stroll around the square and returned at 9:02 PM just 25 minutes later. When we arrived, the host told us that the patio was now closed and that the restaurant would close at 9:30 PM. Had she mentioned this earlier, we would have made sure to return immediately.
Then, the manager Rupesh came over, and his behavior made things even worse. He was incredibly rude and dismissive, saying that we were late and there was “no exception” even though we were only a few minutes past 9:00. Instead of showing understanding or offering a simple solution, he argued with us, questioned whether we even had a dog, and looked out the window as if to check. He told us we could only order takeout, even after we explained that we already knew exactly what we wanted and could order immediately.
What could have been a pleasant dinner turned into a completely unpleasant experience due to poor communication and lack of basic hospitality. If the staff had simply mentioned that the patio closes at 9:00 PM, this entire situation could have been avoided. And as a manager, Rupesh could have easily made a small exception for a table that was ready and available just minutes before.
Sadly, Mister O1 Sandy Springs has become a place with great pizza but disappointing service. Until management improves their attitude toward customers, especially in handling simple and reasonable requests, I can’t recommend...
Read moreMister 01 is truly a special place, and I'm so happy this franchise made its way to Georgia! The first time I visited, I went with a friend. We chose to sit inside and decided to split two pizzas. The pizzas are a decent size and shareable since the crust is thin and crispy! I love the crust because it's not heavy like hand-tossed or deep-dish pizza. We ordered the Star Marco and the Coffee Paolo. Any pizza can be turned into a star-shaped pizza; however, we were informed that the only exception is the Coffee Paolo pizza. This particular pizza comes shaped like a star and has a crust stuffed with ricotta cheese. Delicious!
Both the Star Marco and Coffee Paolo were unique and tasty! The Star Marco has a fresh taste with arugula, fresh tomatoes, and is finished with burrata stracciatella cheese. Although the burrata is cool, making the pizza less hot than usual, it is very refreshing and light. The Coffee Paolo pizza offers a different flavor profile with honey, gorgonzola blue cheese, and coffee grounds. The small bits of gorgonzola blue cheese were my favorite bites.
Because the pizza was so good, I had to take my husband to try it. When we arrived, there was a short wait. I really wanted to dine al fresco due to the beautiful weather, so I was willing to wait. Thankfully, it didn't take long for our table to be ready, and I got my wish of dining outside. We went on a Friday night and had the pleasure of being served by Farrice, who was amazing. She thoroughly explained the menu and shared some of her favorite menu items. From Monday to Friday until 6 PM (I can't remember what time they start), they offer half-price bottles and glasses of wine. We decided to try two glasses: Chardonnay and a Montepulciano Paradoso. I also tried the Chianti Grati but preferred the Montepulciano Paradoso.
We ordered the Star Elisa with sausage and the Coffee Paolo. Both pizzas were just as delicious as they were during my previous visit with my friend.
The manager was walking around, greeting and talking with guests. He shared some additional information that I wasn't previously aware of. One interesting detail he mentioned was that any pizza can be made into a star pizza for an additional cost, including the Coffee Paolo; however, if you remove an ingredient from your pizza, they deduct it from your bill. He said they do this to be fair to customers.
The customer service was top-notch, and our entire dining experience was fantastic. I can't wait to go back again! If you haven't tried Mister 01 yet, be sure to...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible! To be honest, I’m fighting for the proper words to even describe how fantastic this place is. Having just recently opened we’ve already been here three times.. and we’re just getting started. We’re telling everyone about it.
By far, the ONLY pizza I’ve had in America that genuinely brings me back to Italy! They use minimal yet quality ingredients. Everything tastes fresh and incredible. The service, phenomenal. The atmosphere, refreshing. The kitchen, spotless.
Trust me when I say your taste buds will thank you!! Heck, you’ll be thanking me! 😆😄 I know I sound repetitive, but I’m telling you right now if maybe you’ve never been to Italy and have always wondered what actual Italian pizza tastes like, look no further, THIS IS IT!
For any parents, I’m just an aunt but I brought my nieces and nephew here and let’s just say the entire table was quiet for five minutes when the food came.. and eventually, when my husband reached for one of the kids slices, my niece goes. “Um.. can I actually have that slice? I’m not done with my slice yet, but I already know I’m gonna want that one. This pizza is so good!” Mind you, my nieces and nephew are little pixie sticks that eat a slice, maybe two, tops! All three of them had THREE slices each and easily could have had more. The following Sunday—yesterday, they were begging to go there for brunch again. So we did, and once again our experience exceeded my expectations. The entire team is just so wonderful. We even had the pleasure of meeting Miguel, one of the owners, who kindly gifted the kiddos a Mr. 01 chef teddy bear. Needless to say, we have found our go to pizza spot. My husband and I couldn’t be more excited that you guys are in town.
So far, we have tried the Star Beckham, Luca, & Carlos, the Federica, Nutella pizza and the Laura salad. Oh my brother & his wife had a calzone and the Marco pizza which were both SO tasty!
Just go here. You...
