Full transparency, I was invited to visit City Bagel and Cafe to provide an honest and non-biased review before their grand opening.

City Bagel and Cafe is replacing Soho Bakery and Cafe in the same location. Though the location is the same, it is under new management.

Management appears to be very concerned with both the appearance within the store and overall customer service. I spoke extensively with the owner and they pushed heavily their commitment to customer service and ensuring complete and total customer satisfaction.

Management also appears to be much more involved with the happenings within the store and is much more present and involved.

City Bagel and Cafe seems to be more focused than Soho Bakery was. Their menu consists of bagels, pastry items, cookies, and deli sandwiches.

The quality of their food, and honestly the reason for the five stars, is phenomenal. You can tell that care and effort goes into every item they serve.

The bagels are definitely their best items. They are boiled, which after having done some research, is the original and best way to make bagels. The result is a fluffy, full-bodied bagel that retains its structure.

Honestly, you have to try their bagels, highly recommended.

I really hope the best for this location and restaurant. As someone who lives in Sandy Springs, we should always support small businesses and this definitely embodies...

I was very excited to find a nearby breakfast place next to my apartment place but it ended up being waste of time, energy and money.

When I first walked in, I could feel a hostile energy but I ignored it. No one greeted me walking in and everyone looked miserable.

I was trying to order bagels and a coffee but the old lady made it very unpleasant. I asked for a coffee with dairy free options but she said no and told me to add milk. This is so ignorant on their part and inconsiderate. Many people have allergies and they do not seem to care for that. I did not make a big deal out of this and proceeded to order my breakfast sandwiches.

While I was waiting for my sandwiches, I noticed they had no costumer service and treated everyone like this. I noticed they did not give me my third sandwich. I waited patiently for them to acknowledge it but had to approach the counter to ask for it. The old lady ran from the back of the kitchen and yelled NO she only ordered two sandwiches! The other workers seemed confused and said that they heard that I ordered three sandwiches.

There are plenty of other breakfast places in this area. Take your hard earned money somewhere else and spare yourself the emotional trauma. They are rude and unprofessional! Food was OK....

Love this place so much I wound up taking my wife there! They didn’t disappoint then either! My first time I bought an apple danish and a cinnamon bun…..super tasty! The pastry is nice and buttery; flaky goodness!! This past time we got avocado toast, the bagel with the salmon on it, and a glazed cinnamon bun (wasn’t glazed before). Still just as great as the first time!! My wife was the one who ordered the salmon bagel…..she told me you don’t need to toast fresh bagels and I can see why! Just order yourself a nice pastry and eat it! Enjoy yourself!

Now remember, there’s usually 2-3 people working stone time and the line can be long. If you are an impatient person, don’t bring you and your anxiety to the bagel shop LOL I’m so serious about that. This isn’t fast food so don’t treat them as such. You go in, start at all of their selections in line, then order what you want. The kind lady will either hand you your bag or if you have a larger order, they will walk it to you! I love that the store is ran by women; they take their time and do it right!

Now go get you a cinnamon bun….I was sincerely thinking about going to get another one lol, that’s what prompted me to...

*NOTE: Even though they close at 2:00, the kitchen closes at 1:00.* As of 3/21/21, check in on Yelp for 15% of one single item! This review is for takeout only. Staff were wearing masks and we were able to socially distance in line because there weren’t too many people waiting at 12:20 pm on a Sunday. They were out of most of their bagels though, so we recommend going earlier. Here’s what we got: - Pastrami Egg and Swiss ($7.99): I got it on a toasted sesame bagel since they were out of the everything bagel. I subbed cheddar for swiss. They were very generous with the pastrami. Decent sandwich, but not the best I’ve ever had. - Bacon Egg and Cheese ($6.50): My husband got it on a salt bagel since they were out of the everything bagel. They used turkey bacon. Again, decent sandwich, but not the best he’s ever had. Overall, decent bagels, portions, and prices, but didn’t knock our socks off.

I walked in with intentions of getting a bagel but instead left with just a coffee. The place felt ran down. The food out didn't look appealing. It wasn't very clean inside & felt old. Coffee spills on the floor and tables. Signs taped to the tables that say clean after yourself. The coffee was decent, though, for a drip coffee. The men's bathroom was out of paper towels and toilet paper. The employees were nice but seemed miserable. Overall I would suggest a different place to go in this area.

Today was the first time i tried City Bagel and Cafe and I have to say i am very happy I did, I've been looking at this place for days. I went in for breakfast and I got the Pastrami Swiss and Egg and an Everything Bagel. The amount of meat and egg to bagel was A1. The sandwich was moist and juicy oh and I love everything bagels lol. I also left with a Cheese Danish, a Cheese Pocket and a Bearclaw. Thank You City Bagel and Cafe for an awesome experience on my trip to ATL.
