Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our visit after hearing great things about the food, especially the onion rings. Our order was brought out to us incorrectly not once but twice. The first time, they left the onion rings and french fries combo and said they would correct the sandwiches that were wrong. The sandwiches had the toppings and type of bread switched - one was grilled chicken and one was a burger so we couldn't just trade. The second time, they brought out the sandwiches without offering an apology for having to wait for them to be remade. They were again wrong - this time with the type of bread still switched, so they took them back. If I hadn't really wanted the Sanibel special with rye bread, I would have just eaten the burger with the bun. My husband, however, is not a fan of chicken with rye bread. The third order was delivered I believe by the manager who put them down and placed a card on the table that she said was for a free appetizer on the next visit. Still not much of an apology or explanation of what had happened. I am glad we hadn't waited to eat the onion rings and fries as they would have been stone cold by the time the sandwiches arrived correctly. My husband read the card and noticed it said it required a $20 purchase to redeem. When I took it in and gave it back to the "manager" explaining we didn't plan to redeem something that would cost us $20 she said that it wasn't necessary to spend the money; that was just how the card is printed. When I said that whoever was working when we came back would not know that, she said she would know and was always there. Again, still no apology for messing up the order twice or the delay in getting our food. We were not willing to take the chance that she would be there or that the coupon would be honored. Since they had taken our receipt after the first problem, I asked for them to reprint it so I could see how the mistake was made. Unless the toppings and type of bread are internal in the POS, there is no listing on the receipt of how the sandwiches are to made. All in all a major disappointment. We had anticipated the opening of this restaurant as we live very close by. I am not sure we will give this place a second chance. The hamburger was only okay, not one that was memorable. The onion rings are quite good, but would have been more enjoyable as part of a meal instead of the appetizer...
Read moreThe price was a bit more than I expected and yes. I'm from a tourist area on the Outer Banks" so I know it's to be expected, but price was even more than I would say is reasonable, if the food matches the price, I have no issue, but if not perhaps lowering price is more fair, especially if order isn't correct, for I'm sure not many will go back to complain and after driving however long to get there most just accept there at a loss..in regards to the burger's ,they were a great size, we had asked for them to be cooked Medium, it was most definitely closer to rare without the blood coming out and a cow mooing", the flavor/taste was good ,but it was more greasy than most stomach's could handle, especially those on a careful diet due to chronic health issues as mine is...the star was the onion rings. They were awesome, and the best the others said they had ate.. hot, and crispy but not hard, and the milkshakes would had been a great addition, except the cost was $6 and up.. though I'd still like to treat myself and have one sometime.. I would had given better stars, but for the biggest issue of my burger a "swiss, mushroom with mayonnaise"burger.. I received a hamburger with no cheese & loaded with so many onions it was not able to be eat by myself but at least others with me could eat it, though not til after scraping most of them off..thing is, I even actually repeated my order 3 or more times, ( because I have issues with onions, and being on a limited diet due to my health, as well besides..I hate onions,so, I could not had eaten them and no mushrooms, nor swiss cheese".. ) I looked at my receipt and it said exactly what I ordered, so it was not misheard, so heads up.. definitely dont drive away without checking your to go order.. the young man Nate'.. who took my order on the phone was kind and courteous and so I'm assuming issue was probably the mistake of ones who cooked it..I'd love to try eating there again and want to give a better rating..so we'll give another shot and see.. and additionally the restaurant looked clean, and was really a cool retro look inside. Great if just you and ?? But if paying for you and family it could be quite a...
Read moreChee Burger Chee Burger Sanibel 6-6-24 We walked in at 4:14 pm on a Thursday afternoon. They were not busy and sat us at a table immediately. This place was clean, neat and had a great 50’s vibe. Our waiter Adam came over fast and asked what we wanted to drink. We looked over the menu and decided on a milk shake to start with. I got the Chocolate; my wife got the Strawberry our friends got the Vanilla. We all ordered them thick. Adam came back with our drinks quickly and took our food order. I Ordered the 6 oz classic burger well done with Swiss Cheese, Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Pickles and so did our friends. We got a single order of hand cut fries for our side to share as did our friends. I love hand cut fries as they have skins on them, and they are hard to find in this area. These burgers also came with a small cup of Cole Slaw. Our shakes arrived and we started in on them. They looked good with whipped cream and a cherry on top. They were good but not great. They looked big but really were not. They were not as thick as we liked them. Our food came out and the burger was done perfectly. It tasted very good and every item on our burgers tasted fresh and looked good. Our fries were another story. Both orders of Fries looked so brown as they were way over done, they were hard to eat as you can see by the added pictures. We could not finish the Fries they were just too hard to eat. When Adam came back to check on us, we talked to him about the Fries, and he said he would take them off the bill or get us another order of fries, we said no. He said he would get us some to go but we were done eating and did not want to take any with us. How can you screw up Fries? I will give this place a 3 out of 5 stars mainly for the 50’s vibe and deduct 2 stars for overdone Fries and their average Milk Shakes. ⭐⭐⭐ Follow Me For More...
