Dvine Mediterranean Experience — Restaurant in Santa Ana

Oh man, where do I start. The food is not worth the price. The reason is that a large beef shawarma goes for about $25, and the flavor is the least authentic flavor I've ever had. I've been to the D'Vine in Brea, and it was amazing! However, these D'Vine expresses are always a huge letdown when it comes to authenticity. The beef tasted decent but lacked that particular flavor. The hummus tasted like something you'd buy in a tub already prepackaged. Also, the portions are smaller than what you usually get at most Mediterranean spots. Save your time and go somewhere else if you want to eat delicious Mediterranean food. Wanted a hearty yet healthy meal so that calls for Mediterranean food. I came here one Wednesday evening with no line but I people did trickle in and out to pick up to go orders.

I ordered the chicken shawarma with Baba ghanoush and beet salad. Since I went there to order take out, it was great to watch them cook the chicken fresh with their open kitchen. Place is very casual.

They certainly pile on the food. The chicken is tender and tasty. I really enjoyed the rice which is also flavorful.

They were also kind enough to give me complimentary dessert - choice of rice pudding or baklava. I chose the baklava which I'm so glad I did.

Was pretty excited to try a shawarma place in the neighborhood but was ultimately a little disappointed.

Grabbed the chicken shawarma wrap for lunch and then here are a few things that surprised me: 1) despite watching the guy heat up the chicken and press the wrap, it was overall still pretty cold from the rest of the ingredients 2) it’s very pickle forward 3) the chicken shawarma was not shawarma. It was entirely curry flavored, which is fine, but is not really what I was looking for. 4) it took a while? I’m not really sure why as I was the only person there. 5) the garlic sauce HITS at the end in a way that wasn’t balanced or delightful and at no point did I taste hummus
