I recently visited this spot for the first time, and I was really impressed with the overall experience. I ordered the Champignon Crepe and the French Revolution Crepe, with a few custom adjustments due to food intolerances & allergies. I also tried their Green Tea Matcha Latte.
For the Champignon Crepe, I opted for the gluten-free version, which costs an additional $1. While the texture wasn’t as soft or flavorful as I expected, it wasn’t bad at all. The savory fillings—onions, spinach, and an over-hard egg—really made the crepe delicious. The combination of ingredients enhanced the flavor, making the crepe much more enjoyable, though on its own, it could have been a little more flavorful. I also added bacon ($1.25) and swapped goat cheese for mozzarella cheese, both of which complemented the savory filling perfectly.
The French Revolution Crepe was another highlight. I made a couple of adjustments here as well: I had them remove the raspberries and replace them with strawberries and added a little peanut butter($0.69). The sweet and savory combination of strawberries and peanut butter worked wonderfully, and the crepe had a nice balance of flavors.
As for the Green Tea Matcha Latte, I ordered it iced with oat milk ($0.75). While it was creamy and smooth, I found the latte to be quite sweet—maybe a bit too much for my taste. If you enjoy very sweet matcha drinks, this one will definitely appeal to you. Personally, I prefer a more subtle sweetness in my matcha, but that’s just a matter of personal taste.
One of the things I really appreciated was that the restaurant offers gluten-free crepes, making it easy for those with food intolerances to enjoy their menu. They also allow you to swap out Panini bread for a crepe, though it’s worth noting that they don’t offer gluten-free bread for the Paninis—just the gluten-free crepe option. This is great for those looking for a gluten-free meal.
As for the service, while it took a little while for me to be acknowledged when I first arrived (the staff seemed to be in a quick meeting), once I was greeted, the service was excellent. The cashier was incredibly patient and kind, answering all my questions and providing a paper menu since I wasn’t quite ready to order. There was a small mix-up with my gluten-free crepe, but they quickly fixed it and even remade one of the crepes to meet my dietary needs. I really appreciated their understanding and willingness to accommodate my adjustments.
The atmosphere was a bit busy as the place filled up, and there was a bit of a line by the time I was finishing my meal. Once you’re done eating, there isn’t a trash can, but I was told to leave my plates on the table, and the staff would clear them away. There’s plenty of parking in the area, which was convenient. They also offer oat milk and almond milk as options for their drinks, so it’s nice to have choices for those with dietary restrictions.
Overall, I really enjoyed the food and the service. The ability to adjust orders for food intolerances made a big difference, and I’ll definitely be back to try more of their crepes...
Read moreSo disappointing I have to give Euro Caffe 3 stars when there are so many great experiences from other reviewers. Keep in mind, I have been a few other occasions with stellar service but this time around, I left unhappy.
Euro Caffe is located on corner of Bristol and Sunflower across the street from South Coast Plaza. It's a very small coffee shop cafe with both indoor and patio seating. I came in with a friend to grab something sweet. There were quite a few interesting dessert selections but we ended agreeing on the "Oreo Cheesecake" and "Puff Cream Filled Pastry". The cashier was very sweet but as I had questions about our selections, the server rudely interjected from the back saying "it's on the label". Really was that necessary? This definitely made us feel rushed and took away from the evening out with my friend. This type of behavior should not be tolerated because it gives a dissatisfying impression on customers. Before this happened, I was thinking this looks like a great place to bring my laptop or read a book while enjoying a quick bite and some coffee. But if this is the type of service I should expect, I better stay away.
As far as the desserts, they were both good! I enjoyed the presentation of the desserts and both were packed with loads of flavor.
I am at the fence on whether, I should return. I mean customer service is a huge part of a dining experience. With so many different coffee shops offering delightful dessert options, I might not return because of the rude server. It just ruined our...
Read moreNot a bad option if you're looking for a place to eat after 9pm. It's a stand alone place facing the parking lot and Ross. I came here on a Saturday night after 9pm and the place was packed. I quickly snagged a table inside and pulled chairs from outside to fit the 4 of us. We had a teamwork thing going as some were in line to order for the group, while some of us guarded the table.
Our group ended up sharing 2 crepes (French Revolution and Kiss Me), cannoli, and smoothie. Although the crepes have different names, essentially they tasted the same and have more or less the same ingredients. I liked how both aren't overly sweet, generous in portion, and lots of fruits and nutella! The only difference between the 2 would be the types of fruits included (strawberries vs raspberries/blueberries).
The cannoli lacked a "wow" factor, not sure how long it's been in their display case. The smoothie wasn't bad, not too sweet either.
Service was lacking, but I understand that it was busy and only 1-2 people bringing food to tables. I wiped down my own table and I brought in my own chairs so that my group can feel comfortable.
Final verdict is that I can't say that this is my 1st choice, but I'm willing to give them...
