My friend's youngest daughter suggested we visit this pizza parlor. Her daughter is a student in Santa Barbara and heard rave reviews about Rusty's from fellow students. Her daughter associated a pizza parlor with Chuck E. Cheese and thought Rusty's pizza would have a similar taste. She liked Chuck E. Cheese pizza by the way. When we arrived, we noticed the parking lot was empty except for the number of delivery drivers picking up deliveries. There were three drivers ready to leave and another two pulled up while we were inside the establishment. The sun was down so the inside looked dark with all of the wood. From the outside parking lot, the place looked closed. I accept the fact that the dining area is not opened to the public but the dining area was not inviting because that area was not well lit. The kitchen was VERY busy. That area was the only spot well lit. Only one other patron was inside waiting for his order. The space to wait and order was tight so he stood away from us but I felt all six of us (him included) in that area was too cramped considering COVID. Since we ate earlier, I wasn't very hungry so I only ordered the garlic cheese bread. The others ordered pizza and chicken wings. My friend's oldest daughter, who ordered for her mom and sister, noticed charges on her receipt that she questioned. The young lady explained the charges which was accepted but my friend's daughter felt the cashier should have offered better customer service by explaining what sauces came with the pizza or the wings and what would be considered extra. She felt this would have been a common courtesy. She had the money to pay for the extra. She just wanted to wanted to know ahead of time that the other items were extra. My son paid for our order. I was satisfied with my selection. There were enough slices of garlic cheese bread to satisfy my taste. The youngest daughter stated she would return to Rusty's with her boyfriend when he...
Read moreGood pizza, but pricey. Can only give four stars because it's expensive pizza! Great salad bar, but again a little pricey. They don't offer an unlimited salad bar, which is too bad. Their lunch special is an ok deal. My kids say Rusty's is the best pizza in town. I like their subs, pretty good for the price. Self serve beverages, we like that feature. The lower State Street and the Turnpike locations are loud and noisy, no carpeting, lots of hard surfaces. The Calle Real location is really nice, carpeted so it softens the noise factor. Parking is tight at some locations during busy times. The restroom cleanliness is mediocre, doors to the stalls need to provide more privacy, they are almost too short. But definitely worth a visit for some...
Read moreThis is a great restaurant for pizza. They offer thin or thicker crust pizza selections and a variety of toppings. They also offer lunch specials with pricing including a drink. They have sandwiches and a wonderful salad bar. Water, soda, wine and beer are served too. Parking is adequate, but on a busy weekend evening, can be more crowded for a parking spot. 1 handicapped parking spot is offered. Booth or table/bench seating available, restrooms for customers available. Video game area for children is also on site.
Love going to Rusty's on upper State St., but they also have 2 locations in the Goleta area on Calle Real Ave and another on Hollister Ave across from the Marketplace shopping area. They also provide home delivery if you call in...
