Shaker Mill — Restaurant in Santa Barbara

This is a great spot. the bar area is pretty nice and the space is pretty open. there is some seating out front on state st which is nice if you want to people watch. This place is on lower state st. It also shares a space with broad street oyster company. This is like the 2nd or 3rd place that has turned over in there. Used to be modern times. Surprisingly, the burger at broad street is pretty good. Its pretty small too. Shaker mill is a nice place to come to every now and then. The long tables are nice for gatherings with friends. I went last night for the first time and enjoyed the experience. It is a lively atmosphere, on the louder side (it was a less busy Friday) and the drinks were good. The service was great- the staff and bartenders were very attentive. For example, I left my self-serve water glass near my cocktail, and it was empty because I drank the water and a bartender refilled it without me having to ask. The staff was so attentive & polite! Flew to Santa Barbara from Seattle while plane tickets were at an all time high price to meet up with some friends for my sister in law’s bachelorette party. This bar looked awesome, but the bartender wasn’t familiar with Washington ids and wouldn’t serve me. He was very unfriendly and obviously not experienced checking out of state ids which seems unprofessional for a tourist town. I’m well above legal drinking age, very surprising and unexpected.
