Rooster & Rice is a case study proving that simple, when done well, can still provide a five-star dining experience. Rooster & Rice's menu consists of 4 variations on Khao Mun Gai, which is Thai chicken rice (which is fairly similar to Hainan chicken rice if you've ever had that).
I got The Original which comes with both chicken breast and thigh meat over a bed of chicken rice and a side of cucumbers. The chicken was tender with a good bite. But I have to say my favorite part of the dish was the rice - it's so savory and flavorful that every mouthful is a treat.
Rooster & Rice is located on the second floor right next to Ramen Nagi. If you're not paying close attention it's easy to miss their storefront as there's always a line of people waiting for Ramen Nagi. Read moreDefinitely was not expecting this. If you’re going to order here just order fried chicken because anything else looks like it was just boiled and thrown onto a plate. Poor flavoring, chicken has uncooked skin, looks like they cracked open an egg over it and didnt even attempt to fry it (like over easy/runny is one thing this stuff was just straight up uncooked) and the sauce carries the plate and it’s too salty it just overcompensates for everything else. Just overall a terrible experience. Would never come back here again and I’m honestly surprised anybody legitimately likes this stuff.... I normally am easy going with food but this looks like something I would maybe feed...

I normally get the popcorn chicken if I want a quick snack but for meal, the chicken sandwich is my go to. I prefer this one over the popeyes because of the sweet potato fries, they’re crisscut so it makes it tastier;) The store is small and sometimes it’s empty so there’s a lot of seating but honestly, the best for alone time. I know I’m doing the opposite of leaving a review because it’ll get busy they should get the foot traffic with how fresh and good...
