I recently had the incredible opportunity to indulge in a delightful dining experience at Jimmy Dean's American Gourmet, nestled in the heart of Santa Clarita, California. This establishment, which has been a beloved part of our community since its inception in 1968, truly deserves every one of the five stars I am awarding it. My association with Jimmy Dean's goes back to my high school days when I frequently treated myself to their mouthwatering chili cheese fries with onions as an after-school delight. Over the years, Jimmy Dean's has been dedicated to providing fresh, friendly, and fast food made to order, becoming a staple in the lives of many Santa Clarita residents. As they celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, they maintain their tradition of excellence, ensuring that every dish lives up to their impeccable standards.
The ambiance at Jimmy Dean's exudes warmth and friendliness, perfectly complementing the family-friendly environment they are renowned for. The staff, with their welcoming smiles and efficient service, go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels valued and at home. During my visit, I was particularly impressed by their speedy service, which exemplified the staff's dedication to creating a positive dining experience.
Now, let's delve into the culinary treasures that make Jimmy Dean's a truly exceptional dining destination. My indulgence was the chili cheese fries with onions, a delightful symphony of flavors. The crispy fries, made from what I assume Irish potatoes, provided the perfect foundation for the rich, savory chili, which was sublime. In contrast, the melted cheese and the chili complemented each other to create a velvety texture, beautifully enhanced by the sweet and sharp notes of the onions, which were crunch. Each delectable bite was a testament to the extraordinary care and attention Jimmy Dean's puts into their culinary creations.
However, the crown jewel of this establishment is undoubtedly their renowned Jimmy Dean's breakfast burrito. This culinary masterpiece, which is a must-try for any breakfast lover, features three impeccably scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, melty cheese, golden hash browns, and a generous serving of chili, all lovingly enveloped in a warm, soft tortilla. The harmonious blend of flavors was exceptional – the smoky essence of the bacon, the creamy richness of the cheese, the satisfying crunch of the hash browns, and the robust, comforting spice of the chili all melded together seamlessly. It's no wonder that this breakfast burrito has garnered such widespread acclaim; it is a true testament to the art of breakfast cuisine.
In addition to its exceptional culinary offerings, Jimmy Dean's also provides convenience, with ample parking and the option to take your meal to go. This ensures that its delectable dishes are accessible even to those on the move. The affordability of their menu is also worth noting, with prices starting at 4.99 and demonstrating that top-quality, delicious food does not have to break the bank.
In conclusion, Jimmy Dean's American Gourmet in Santa Clarita is a beacon of culinary excellence and community spirit. Whether you are a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this establishment promises an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates its rich heritage and unwavering commitment to quality since 1968. From the moment you step through the door, you are greeted by the warm smiles of the staff and the inviting aroma of their burrito. Your quest for the perfect meal ends here—make your way to Jimmy Dean's and treat your taste buds to a feast of...
Read moreNothing fancy, but they have an extensive menu and I've never ordered anything I was really unhappy with. The food is cooked to order, so it isn't fast, but the line is efficient and the food keeps coming out at a decent rate. Do not pull into the drive-thru expecting to get a hamburger as quickly as you can at McDonald's.
The fries are the mushy kind, although you can ask for them well done, and they'll try, but they won't become really crunchy. I get the pastrami sandwich most often (usually to split). It isn't amazing, but I haven't found a better one in SCV, and the price is reasonable.
When I first started going there the customer service was really solid. They never made a mistake on an order, and everyone was friendly and professional. Then they went through a stretch where the service really dipped, even to the point where I quit going for a year. Luckily, somewhere along they way they fixed it, because when I decided to give them another chance, it was tolerable again. It has never achieved the level from many years back, but I haven't had any significant problems either.
The parking lot is terrible, and the approach to the drive-thru is really bad if you enter from Kansas St.
I've tried the other Jimmy Dean's (on The Old Road) twice, and then gave up on it. It wasn't terrible, but they aren't that far apart, and I definitely strongly prefer this one.
Low-carbers: They'd do any of their sandwiches as a lettuce wrap, and they also have a egg white and...
Read moreCame here for the breakfast burrito, and this review is related only to the breakfast burrito.
I ordered a chorizo and bacon breakfast burrito. Order was served fast, even before I could fix my drink. I was excited about this burrito because the reviews were good, and when we got the food the burrito was huge.
Well, I won’t be back. The burrito was really heavy on the potato, couldn’t detect the chorizo because of the chili (?!) they put in a burrito, and the bacon flavor was non-existent. It was supposed to be a three egg burrito, but I highly doubt there was more than two. The green hot sauce was also disappointing at best with little flavor.
The restaurant itself has been here since the late 60s and judging by the decor, it looks it. While the late 60s, early 70s vibe doesn’t bother me, the ceiling tiles that look like they haven’t been replaced in 50 years do. This place is more of a ‘greasy spoon’ type restaurant which is fine except the one dish I tried wasn’t that good.
The people are great, good service, but I’d try something other than the...
