The first red flag was that the ice cream shop across the street had a really long line. And this one was completely empty on a Saturday. There was only one employee who seemed really checked out. Probably underpaid. Kind of felt bad for the guy. The toppings at the self-serve bar were all stale. Pretty sure this is the first time I've gotten self-serve tasted the toppings and then thrown on the ice cream away. I talked directly to the worker and ask if the toppings were old and if there was a way I could just get a replacement item and he just kept repeating the word no over and over again. The communication skill set was pretty poor. And not worth fighting over a $10 ice cream. So I just threw it away and quietly left.

Crazy good icecream with wildly delicious flavors like Tamarindo, Basil?!...my faves are Horchata, Green Tea. Oh and it has so many VEGAN OPTIONS (almond based and non almond based options)! We got kid size Basil scoop, a small coffee milkshake (I think with almond base) and non-dairy whip cream, 3 doughnut holes, and 2 scoops of classic vanilla in a sugar cone. I don't know why or how I over looked this place for so long, I'm sorry to say I made the mistake of judging too soon and counted it off as commercial looking franchise, so never went inside, but its not! There were some ice crystals in the scoops yet overall amazing experience on a spring day 2021.

Visiting the area and wanted a quick dessert with vegan options. Found this place on Google Maps and it didnt disappoint! Great vegan options and my sisters both loved their dairy options. The employee, Neily (I hope that's correct lol?), was so sweet and kind from the time we set foot in the building to when we left. Wish I lived closer!

5-Star Review for Mary at Cruz Creamery, Santa Cruz, CA

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Cruz Creamery in Santa Cruz, and I must say, the experience was elevated to an entirely new level thanks to Mary. From the moment I walked in, Mary greeted me with a warm, genuine smile that instantly made me feel welcome. Her positive energy was infectious, and it was clear that she takes immense pride in providing top-tier customer service.

What stood out most was her attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience possible. She took the time to patiently explain the different flavors, offered thoughtful recommendations based on my preferences, and even let me sample a few options before I made my final decision. I truly appreciated how she made me feel like a valued customer rather than just another order in line.

Mary’s knowledge of the menu and her passion for her job were evident in every interaction. She was attentive, efficient, and incredibly friendly throughout my visit, making sure that I had a great experience. In a world where good customer service can sometimes feel rare, Mary truly stands out as a shining example of what exceptional service looks like.

Thanks to Mary’s outstanding hospitality, Cruz Creamery has earned a loyal customer. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to friends and family — not just for the delicious ice cream, but for the incredible service from Mary. She’s a gem, and Cruz Creamery is lucky...

Was in town visiting and saw great reviews for this place and decided to pop by after dinner. There was a little bit of a line, which just indicated to me that we were in the right spot, however the door labeling for covid made it more confusing than it needed to be. The girl busting her butt behind the counter had to stop and tell every single party that walked in the "enter only" door that the line was actually at the "exit only" door. One would think after three or four times of this you would just switch the doors🤣🤣. Anyways, there looked to be some great flavors but since they weren't doing samples because of Covid, I didn't get to try them as I didn't want to get stuck with a flavor I didn't like. I honestly don't see the difference in handing someone a cone and handing someone a single use spoon for a sample, but whatevs. Overall, the ice cream was good and we would...
