Please avoid eating at the SF Bar &Grill because you will not be respected should you speak the truth about the quality of the food orederd. Bob makes judgement calls when the waitress shares my concern that the shrimp is over cooked and the spaghetti tastes paste-like and not eatable. Also Bob ignored me and wouldn't hear me out because he personally checked the food before it got to me. The worst treatment being humiliated and told by Bob (that he knew I was doing to be difficult and get away from paying) When I addressed the uneatable meal 1st to the waitress then she went to tell Bob (Bob chose to ignore me) I waited 20 minutes 2nd I call upon a waiter to get Bob (all the while the waitress ignored us) waited again for Bob so 3rdly I asked a busboy to please send a manager so then the young lady came over and I expressed to her and showed her the overcooked shrimp and pasted pasta She offered to get another dish cooked up But I told her I couldn't eat the food and to not charge me and waste anymore time and food; the quality was very disappointing. So then the waitress brings the ticket and the my friend paid the meal and I asked the waitress did the meals get deducted and she said no and Bob came over to embarrass us and raised his voice that he knew I was trouble and if we walked out without paying he would call the cops. Then. The verbal abusive exchange Bob yells threatening to call the police and my friend tried to tell Bob that the bill was paid but question the charge of food uneatable, but Bob wouldn't listen and yelled out loud "I'm calling the cops..." We were humiliated we got upset and yes we cursed Bob because he cursed us. A horrible scene because Bob does not respect a customer's point of the poor quality of food. We are born and raised locals retired professional just went to have lunch not ever expected to be yelled threaten and accused of not paying the meal; all along the check was paid with a polite uneatable food. Bob choose to create the scene Knowing that The Customer is Right but Bob ignores...
Read moreJust got home a while ago from our first time here since the merge of Dr. Field Goods. We had the badass blt, the Galisteo grilled cheese, the baseball steak and veggie tacos. I think the food, for the most part was really good, and our server (a very tall jovial man) was absolutely fantastic. The baseball steak, ordered medium, came out on the well done side of medium well. I feel bad, because I encouraged my friend to send it back. It’s a new-ish place and and owner is Santa-famous for his meats. So we wanted it to be amazing and also let the restaurant have a little bit of constructive feedback. No one was upset at this point. The server brought the dish back promptly and I watched the manager and three cooks fondle it before the sweaty manager came over and explained to my friend that it was cooked medium and that if they cooked it anymore it was going to be over cooked. She said, I’m so sorry, I hate sending food back, but it’s not undercooked, it’s over cooked, I certainly don’t want it cooked anymore! The manager replied well yeah, it’s cooked medium. It’s just the light in here. So he went to retrieve the dish, brought it back, and as he did so was pulling his cell phone out of his pocket and turning on the flashlight! So that he could explain how my friend was wrong and show her… what? The faint line of pink in the center? She said, no I don’t need to be proven wrong, it’s fine, I’m already embarrassed, and I hate doing this. After someone stepped aside to speak again to the manager, they took $10 off the meal. As we were paying the man walked back over to explain that he just didn’t want us all eating while we she waited for her meal. It was absolutely absurd. We tipped the server well and left with a sour taste in our mouths. I’m shocked at the attitude of the manager, as well as his behavior and approach. This is a meat place. Ideally it’s cooked to perfection the first time, but if it isn’t, why not take it back and make it right? The manager made the whole thing weird. ...
Read moreVery poor service tonight 4/27/19. We arrived for an early dinner at about 5pm. We waited to be seated for a while at the front desk, with employees noticing us, but nobody coming over to help or letting the hostess know we were there. So, we decided to seat ourselves in the patio. Upon finding a table the hostess came running out with menus. Our waitress was quick to to greet us and take our drink orders. After this we waited 20+ minutes with no return visit from the waitress. During this waiting period, we watched a neighbors table be serviced by their waiter 4+ times. Also worth mentioning that there were only 3 parties(on the patio) to serve, us included. I told my wife our drinks were probably just sitting on the bar...which they were. When she went to retrieve them, she complained and the manager came out to talk to us. He gave a fairly lame excuse that they were short a buser and that he had asked our waitress to help him with another task. Very poor understanding of customer service especially from a manager. Let the waitress seve us, take our dinner order, then ask her for help. Or, ask the waiter that served the neighboring table 4+ times for help. The manager offered to comp us an appetizer. We decided to go somewhere else and no other remedy was offered. Also, I overheard and wayched our manager telling a casually dressed man sitting at a table what happened between us, when we were just 20 feet away. We left and went to another restaurant and had great food, service, and drinks. We have been to SF Bar and Grill many times over the years, but will think twice before returning. Simply put, this manager needs more training in customer service and general professionalism. Note: We still tipped the waitress 25% even though she gave us a very cold attitude after the discussion with the manager. Update: We have been in twice since this review with much better experiences. Food and drinks are always good...
