We ate from here 2 times once dine in and once we ordered the food to pickup because we were staying so close. The dine in experience was pretty good with a few mishaps so first we ordered the chips and queso and the Queso was delicious I also ordered the enchiladas with chicken and red sauce as the question in New Mexico is “Red or Green” Red is supposed to more mild but still had my lips and body burning so next time I would get it with no sauce I was disappointed it did not have any vegetables in it but it was pretty good with the exception of the intense spice. It is served with delicious Sopa Pias and honey butter. I also had a drink, and it was good. I asked for sour cream and more napkins, and the napkins were brought but my water was not refilled, and I finished my meal by the time the waitress came back and I reminded her of the sour cream and she asked was it ever brought out and I told her no so I never got that. We also informed her it was my birthday, and nothing was done for that so if you expect something from a birthday or special day this place does not do anything for it. I was surprised as it felt like they might. The carry out order experience was weird the host gave me the wrong order at first, I walked out and had to return and get the right order the Queso seemed more water down and had a distinct beer flavor I didn’t detect the first time. I go the taco salad and the shell was not crispy nor was the lettuce what I expected it was a lot of white lettuce. I expected veggies on it as it description made it sound like there would be a lot of tomatoes and fajita vegetables in it and it was lacking that. My friend ordered the Chalupas but was also disappointed as it didn’t look or taste like a chalupas, and all this was $50. I had such high hopes for this place but our experience with Red Robin was better. I think they were having 2 off days with all the Balloon Fiesta traffic. There is plenty of parking for this location if you drive. If this review was helpful at all please mark helpful and follow...
Read moreMy hubby and I went here on a Monday night around 7 & it was packed & the wait was 20-30 minutes. I had read good reviews so I took this as an even better sign that we made a good choice for our last dinner in Santa Fe. There are so many New Mexican restaurants to choose and we got suggested a lot & we were glad we chose here.
We were lucky to find 2 seats at the small bar while waiting and had a drink. My hubby had a beer & I had the house margarita minus the sweet & sour but add Pama, it was delicious. I asked for a little more Pama and the bartender kindly gave me more. It was perfect after that. We probably only had to wait 15 minutes so not bad.
We ordered The Works, which was chips, salsa, guac & queso. It was all phenomenal! They have yummy chips, which I'm picky about, homemade and crispy & salty. Their house salsa was delicious & queso done nicely with their green Chile. The star was the guac, oh my gosh, so nicely done with all the flavors & such a generous portion served in a small corn tortilla.
For dinner we shared the roast beef burrito & the meat was tender & flavorful. It was a large portion so I'm glad we shared. I don't know why this place and other places don't serve beans and rice with every dish. I always assume it'll come with every dish but it doesn't. I really enjoy to have a little of those with my meal so that was disappointing. I could have ordered it extra but didn't want to pay the extra expenses when I think it should come with it. Plus we were plenty full.
I didn't get to really see the atmosphere because we were seated on the bar side and there wasn't much to that. The other side was brighter and more lively.
Even though it was slammed, the service was kind and fairly quick. We greatly enjoyed and would definitely go back. We were trying to decide between Paloma & The Shed. Paloma looked amazing but higher prices & The Shed looked comparable but it was a farther walk from where we...
Read moreSaturday March 12, 2022. Arrived (party of 2) for lunch and were seated almost immediately in "The Barrio" (a glass-enclosed wing of the restaurant that seats (maybe) btwn 40-50 ppl.) Kinda cool to be able to dine while SEEING the outdoors without BEING outdoors.
Our Server, Senorita "Karla", was ALL THAT..AND..THE TORTILLA CHIPS!"😁 She's the perfect example of the Tomasita's brand. Professional, polite, experienced, and a genuine pleasure! Five Stars for her! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We ordered the Blue Corn Tortilla Chicken Enchiladas ($12.95), Tesuque Steak ($17.95) including fries & seasoned grilled vegetables, sides of guacamole ($2.95) & sour cream ($1.00), a Modelo Especial ($5.00) and a complimentary glass of iced water. Total bill (no dessert ordered) was $43.86 for 2 ppl. That's probably just under the average price (WE pay) of $25 per person for lunch around town. Food didn't take long to reach the table. Maybe 5 minutes after ordering. I think that's awesome, since the restaurant was almost at capacity when we arrived!
Had a very enjoyable time THIS visit (compared to a couple years ago). THAT summer, we sat in the Bar area and were hounded by annoying flies while eating!
Visit was great as was the ENTIRE Wait Staff..from the Front Door Greeter @ the Pickup Desk for Call-in Orders, to the nice lady @ the Seating Stand that had a Staffer take us to our table in "The Barrio", to Ms. Karla (our Server), to the young lady that we passed near the kitchen's entrance that thanked us for dining at Tomasita's and wished us a "nice day" as we left the restaurant!
We'll surely return to dine here, again, after receiving THAT kind of Customer Service &...
