Urban Skillet — Restaurant in Santa Monica

I had the pleasure of dining at Urban Skillet in Santa Monica recently, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience! The restaurant specializes in gourmet burgers, hot dogs, and fries, and each dish exceeded my expectations.

We started off with the truffle banger burger which was absolutely delicious. It featured two beef patties that were smashed to perfection and topped with caramelized onions and pickles. The truffle aloli added a nice kick of flavor to the mix while the Urban Sauce gave it an even more savory taste. Finally, the sautéed mushrooms and swiss cheese completed this tasty package.

We then moved on to the z-dog which was just as wonderful as the burger! This all beef smoked bacon wrapped dog was served with fries, American cheese, BBQ brisket, caramelized onions, parsley, spicy aioli sauce and BBQ sauce. Together these ingredients created a scrumptious flavor combination that left me wanting more.

To finish off our meal we ordered some house fries - plain boring fries nothing special but cooked to perfection nonetheless!

I usually dine in this restaurant but on this specific day, I have my 3 week old son so I’m not able to come in, so I ordered take out via Seamless. I ordered their Eggcelent Burger. When my order gets to my house it’s a burger with jalapeños and pickles. I bite into the burger not noticing, and my mouth was on fire! I call and let them know that I received the wrong order and their response was just “Oh sorry next time we’ll get it right” LIVID, because it’s not like I can eat the burger and Ive just spent my money on this meal. The worker claims I would need to COME IN and get the right burger. Pist, because now I have to get my 3 week old son together after I already paid for delivery and drive to their establishment. I come into the restaurant to pick up my correct burger and ask for my delivery fee back , partial money from my order back, or some type of compensation and they claim they can’t do any of that. And that I got the right burger so I should be happy. I’ve recommended this place to many people and purchased from here many times but not anymore. Highly disappointed in the service at the establishment. I recently visited Urban Skillet for the first time, and it is a great spot in Santa Monica. I ordered “Original Skillet” burger with fries, and everything was really good. The burger was juicy and flavorful. I especially liked the beef - it was tender and when combined with melted cheese it tasted amazing. I did like sauce they put in the burger, it tasted perfect with meat. And it was perfect amount of sauce - not too much and not too little. The buns were soft and a bit sweet, just how I liked. I felt that all ingredients were fresh and well prepared.

Fries were also delicious! It kind of reminded me of the animal style fries from in and out but not going to lie it liked this more. It tasted better, they were cooked just right, crispy and topped with a generous amount of cheese and sauce with some onions. Very good nice!!!

The restaurant itself is clean and cozy. They have a good variety of menu items - from burgers to chicken wings. There are also few tables outside, which is nice to enjoy your meal outdoor. The staff was friendly and they cooked pretty quickly.

I definitely recommend this place if you like burgers and I will definitely be coming back to try other burgers...
