We decided to go to the hotels restaurant EVOQ, the staff didn’t seem friendly to us, it almost seemed the whole time like we were a bother to host and the waiter that was attending us. He was not friendly and seemed annoyed to be working and attending us. We never got refills, didn't even ask if we liked our food. When we got our food it was very small portions. I ordered the crab mac and cheese which was almost $30 for one little scoop on crab mac what barely filled the bowl, not filling for a dinner plate for the price we paid and on top of that my plate was completely cold when served. I've never had cold crab mac and cheese. The food looked like it was already pre-prepped, like they put a scoop on a plate and just microwaved it. Read moreI booked this meal for our anniversary meal and the food was DIVINE. Our waiter was great too. The descriptions we found online were a little misleading as I thought it was a rooftop restaurant with great food (which is why I booked it).... we did end up going to the rooftop bar after dinner - the view is amazing and had a great vibe, but a different menu (not what I would've picked for a special meal). I am not sure why but the restaurant was pretty much empty - so not a great vibe. Perhaps because we booked it for 8:30pm? Not sure - the food made up for the poor ambience and then we went upstairs to the rooftop bar to cap off the night. Knowing what it was - I would still come here again to eat at Evoq and drink upstairs, but perhaps make an earlier booking so there were a few more...
Read moreDisappointing breakfast this morning at Evoq. 20-25 minutes for simple egg dishes and believe our server Valerie just didn’t put the order in. Not sure as she never came back to check after the food finally arrived. Although not all the food arrived at once and further delayed for one extra egg.
Then we discovered the eggs were overcooked and just not great dishes overall.
I asked to see the manager, Juan Barajas, but had to ask another employee as Valerie would not come by our table.
Juan apologized for the poor service and food but did not offer to do anything more.
Breakfast was free as I’m a Marriott Platinum. Either way, the Westin management should want to offer excellent service and food to guests so wanted to alert Juan...
