This is an awesome place! Coming here for the sunset is a great idea, but you better come early because parking and finding a good seat can be a nightmare. They have tons of seating, it’s just the place to be. The seats out in the open can be a little sandy so be aware of that. Under the tiki is a perfect place as well. It’s all around a beautiful place. The food is great, the drink prices are pretty decent as well. The bathrooms are the only thing, it’s typically always a line for the ladies. But this is also probably due that it’s not only O’Leary guests using the bathroom. There is an outside tiki bar to get drinks as well as a place inside. And it’s animal friendly. So many puppies every where. The kids were running lose all over the place. We had one child come up from under our table with the parent no where to be found. But over all I love coming here and always bring new people here!

I have been going to O’Leary’s since I moved to Sarasota 35 years ago and it has always been one of my favorite restaurants until recently. The quality of food has not been good. Had dinner last night and ordered the sampler. It was terrible. And it was $16. Two mozzarella sticks, 3 shrimp and 3 cod bites. Which looked like flat fried potato chips. There was no cod to be found, only breading. And everything was too fried. The 3 sauces took up most of the platter. Then had the Buffalo chicken wrap which was just ok, but the fries were terrible. They were just small pieces, maybe one or two were curly and not fresh. So disappointed. I know prices have gone up, and I understand that, but if I am going to pay those prices I expect a better meal.

The saving grace that allowed for a 1 star review was the scenery. Even that could have been a little better with a couple more fans. The outside temperature was over 100 and the $3.00 drafts only stayed cold so long. The fried fish basket was below average with the clam strips being the worst i have ever had. My wife had the turkey club wrap and after adding 3 packets of mayo, it finally wasn't too dry to choke down. My friend got the fried cod sandwich. One word: DRY! The picture says it all. Whether it was freezer burnt or stuck in the refrigerator uncovered too long, I don't know. Either way, my friend obviously couldn't finish it. If you are coming late for the tiki bar and live music, have a great time! Otherwise, stay away.

The grilled mahi was alright, but wouldn't get it again. Don't forget you're ordering from a bar, so expect bar food quality. Mozza sticks were amazing, chicken tenders were good. Wings or something would probably be better. Very fast service, we'd just sat down with our drinks and our food buzzer went off. This might explain the questionable quality though... This restaurant is probably better as a lunch vibe vs a dinner vibe. It'll be hot and sunny sitting outside though but at least you can sit under cover at the bar or under umbrellas at the tables. Check their website for live music, they have it more often than not. Saturdays usually consist of one band for lunch and another for dinner.

Great views of the bay...nice outdoor seating...great location. Drinks...so so..decently proved for the location but as far as Tiki bars go...drinks were meh. It's not that they were bad...but cheap liquor and just not that special. I would certainly go back...and plan to next time in town...but have a better expectation of the place now. If your in the area, definitely stop by, its worth a beer or cocktail and the view. We did not eat the food, but there were several items that sounded great, and what I saw looked awesome. Might have to change the review if I eat there Till next time....

EXCELLENT FOR TOURISTS/TROPICAL VIBES!This is such a nice place to eat! For a relaxed date, family fun, a cool drink... lots of things! If you get a seat outside there's a wonderful view of downtown Sarasota with a sunset or nighttime lights. Dogs are welcome as well! People will often roll up in boats, tie off, and go in for some food right on the small beach. Live music on some nights as well which creates an awesome atmosphere. Tiki torches along the beach are lit as the sun goes down as well! Note that: Food is good, but not fine dining. Very recommended!
